"Alright, you two can stop discussing how you're going to maintain peace across the universe."
The Supreme Intelligence suddenly interrupted.
"You should just stay here on Hala instead."
The face it had copied from Daniel began to twist with rage, and it was furious.
Sure, it was a computer... no a super-intelligent lifeform, but that didn't mean it didn't have emotions!
Having integrated the minds of countless generations of the Kree's greatest geniuses, it had gradually developed emotions of its own, though it simply hadn't told the Accusers because they would never allow the Supreme Intelligence to possess feelings.
These two siblings had gone too far! Right in front of it, they had openly talked about killing it over and over again. How outrageous!
Outside, an inescapable net had already been laid, with the entire area surrounded by Kree forces. Kree warships filled the skies and Kree soldiers covered the ground.
Every planetary cannon on Hala was aimed at this location, and the moment the Supreme Intelligence gave the order, countless lasers, missiles, and every weapon imaginable would rain down upon Daniel and Carol.
"I'm going to tear you both apart!" the Supreme Intelligence growled viciously.
Daniel stroked his chin as he studied it, completely ignoring the threat as he turned to Carol instead.
"Carol, have you noticed something?"
"What?"
"I'm seriously handsome from every angle, just look at that thing copying me. Even with its face all twisted like that, I'm still unbelievably good-looking."
Carol rolled her eyes, "Well, talking less would be helpful."
Then she glanced at the Supreme Intelligence and couldn't help commenting, "...You are pretty handsome."
"See?"
Daniel burst into laughter, then his expression instantly turned cold as he stared at the Supreme Intelligence and said icily, "How dare you use my face? That alone is enough reason for you to die."
The moment he finished speaking, blazing heat vision erupted from his eyes, and the crimson beams swept across the entire palace.
BOOM!
The hall they were standing in was sliced clean through and began collapsing. As the palace collapsed, he and Carol found themselves standing directly before countless gun barrels.
"Kill them!"
The furious voice of the Supreme Intelligence echoed across every Kree communication channel.
Ra-ta-ta-tat-tat!
An endless storm of laser fire shot toward the two of them.
Carol instinctively flew upward into the sky, while Daniel remained exactly where he stood because he wanted to test just how durable his body really was. So far, he hadn't sensed even the slightest danger, so there was no reason to move.
Countless laser blasts slammed into him, and his entire body disappeared within a sphere of blinding white light.
The Kree had no idea how powerful Daniel truly was, so they fired continuously for half a minute, stopping only after exhausting an entire energy cell.
"So... is it over?"
Many Kree soldiers thought the same thing.
That guy looked pretty intimidating... but who would've guessed he was an idiot? Standing there without moving while taking laser fire head-on? He's probably been vaporized into dust.
What a boring fight. We thought we'd finally face a worthy enemy, turns out he's just a brain-damaged fool. What a waste of our time, now we might as well go back to training.
Even the Supreme Intelligence was stunned.
"That's it?"
"I thought dealing with him would be extremely difficult. Who would've imagined he wouldn't even fight back?"
Everything suddenly felt rather anticlimactic.
To defeat Daniel and Carol, it had designed tens of thousands of contingency plans, considering every possible scenario.
And yet one of them had apparently been eliminated immediately.
It refused to believe anyone could survive such concentrated laser fire. The Kree's weapons weren't toys, even the Skrulls had acknowledged their power.
A barrage that dense could pierce a fragile planet. How could any living being withstand it with their body alone? Hopefully there's at least some biological tissue left.
The Supreme Intelligence thought.
It would've been nice to remind them not to completely vaporize him.
Two seconds later, the blinding light finally dispersed, and Daniel's figure slowly emerged.
He stood there with both hands protecting his crotch. Aside from that, he wasn't wearing a single thread.
"Damn it..."
Daniel cursed inwardly.
I didn't expect the suit to be this fragile, it got destroyed again.
After about ten seconds of sustained bombardment, the suit had begun melting, and realizing something was wrong, Daniel had immediately covered himself. Otherwise, everything would have been on full display.
Good thing I'm quick-witted.
When I get back, I'm definitely going to have a word with T'Challa. He must've cheapened out on the armor. How could it be this flimsy?
Naturally, he completely ignored the fact that the armor had endured millions, perhaps tens of millions of lasers strike in those ten seconds before finally giving out.
"So..." Daniel looked at the surrounding Kree soldiers.
"Mind waiting a moment? I'll go find some clothes, and then we can continue."
The lasers striking his body had started off feeling a little itchy, but after a while, they became incredibly comfortable.
And honestly, he wanted them to keep going.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The deafening roar of countless laser cannons instantly drowned out his voice.
This time, the Kree didn't even wait for the Supreme Intelligence's orders, and the sky became a solid curtain of laser fire, pouring onto Daniel's body.
"Wait a second!"
Daniel shouted over the noise, but no one could hear him.
He could easily dodge, still he didn't want to lose the laser "massage." In the end, he simply continued shielding his lower body while letting the lasers strike his skin directly.
"Ah..."
"This feels amazing."
No one paid any attention to Carol anymore, as every Kree soldier was either frantically pulling the trigger and swapping out depleted energy cells as fast as possible or standing there in complete disbelief.
As they fired, they steadily retreated, creating enough room to deploy smaller missile systems, and then every variety of energy bomb imaginable was hurled toward Daniel.
The bombardment continued... for over an hour.
Everything within dozens of miles had long since been flattened. Every Kree building had vanished, only crystalline rock and scorched earth remained.
For miles in every direction, not a single living figure could be seen. Where Daniel had originally stood, a gigantic crater had formed.
This time. He's dead, right?
Even if he somehow survived, surely, he must be injured.
The Supreme Intelligence, the Accusers, and every Kree soldier participating in the battle, they all prayed for the same thing.
Without realizing it, they had already stopped hoping to kill Daniel. Now, they only hoped he had suffered some kind of injury.
A scratch, a little blood, just anything.
But what greeted them was despair.
Daniel's completely unharmed figure appeared once again on every screen. Every Kree widened their eyes, searching desperately across his flawless body and looking for even the tiniest wound.
There wasn't one, not even a single mark, there were only perfectly sculpted muscles gleaming under the light. Then Daniel's voice rang clearly through every Kree communication channel.
"Come on!"
He stretched lazily and rolled his neck.
"That felt incredible.
You guys should try it sometime. Getting hit by lasers feels warm all over, it's like a full-body massage."
Every Kree could only think one thing.
Who is this monster?
Then Daniel continued, "Keep going! This is war, and your enemy is still alive! So, hurry up and finish him off!"
He grinned broadly.
"Come on, give it your best! My health bar hasn't even started dropping yet!"
...
Hearing those words, the Supreme Intelligence immediately addressed the Accusers.
"It's time to deploy planet-destroying weapons, as you've all seen, conventional weapons are completely ineffective against him."
"I repeat, he is a treasure beyond imagination, so whatever the cost, we must obtain him. Even if we have to sacrifice some of our own people, the rewards will far outweigh the losses."
The Accusers exchanged glances, then they all nodded in agreement.
"We'll head into outer space."
"Ten minutes from now..."
"We launch the planet-killer weapon and destroy him."
