The Accusers' warships had only just lifted off when Carol, who had spent more than an hour standing around doing absolutely nothing blocked their path.
Carol was furious, because the Kree were ignoring her too much!
Every single attack had been thrown at Daniel, and she had been hovering in the sky for over an hour, yet not a single laser had been fired in her direction, not even a stray shot.
'Do I really have that little presence?'
Watching several warships rise into the air more than ten miles away only made her angrier.
"What? Are they pretending I don't exist?"
Carol looked down at herself. A red and blue combat suit, hair standing straight up, white light blazing from her eyes and crimson energy surrounding her body.
She looked incredibly powerful, alright?
Enraged, Carol fired a blast of energy that brought the ascending warships to a halt, then slammed her fists together, causing the overflowing energy wave to make the ships tremble.
"Try flying any higher," she warned coldly, "and I'll blow you up."
She knew the people inside could hear her, so the ships froze in midair, and a moment later, they slowly descended.
"This is humiliation! She's threatening us!" one of the Accusers roared inside the flagship, his face flushing red as he paced back and forth, stomping heavily across the deck.
"No one has ever threatened an Accuser! No one!"
Spit flew from his mouth as he shouted. The other Accusers stood with folded arms, watching him vent without saying a word, as they all felt disgraced.
People who had always stood at the pinnacle of power had just been threatened by a woman.
"What do we do now?" another Accuser asked.
At that moment, they all regretted not following Ronan's example and slipping away earlier, because if they had, they wouldn't be trapped in this impossible situation now.
"Turn around," the furious Accuser ordered.
"Go around to the far side of the planet. Once we're clear, launch high-yield weapons. Didn't he say he hasn't lost any HP? Then let's satisfy him, even if we have to sink this entire continent today, we'll make him bleed!"
The Accusers didn't even realize that they had stopped hoping to kill Daniel, and now they only wanted to injure him.
We just want to see some blood!
Seriously, even one drop would do! We could preserve it for research!
"What if..." someone asked quietly, "...he still isn't hurt?"
Silence filled the bridge.
"It's impossible."
...
Apart from the small piece of Vibranium suit covering his modesty, the rest of Daniel's body was completely exposed.
Since his suit had already been ruined and more fighting was obviously coming, there was no point putting on another set only to have it destroyed again. Besides, the suit was tight and wearing it for too long was uncomfortable anyway.
Like this, he felt free and unrestrained.
Daniel lay lazily inside the enormous crater, as he said, "Come on, keep bombing me! I kind of want to get hurt."
He genuinely wanted to know just how absurd his defensive abilities had become.
"Grant his wish."
The Accusers gave the order, as missiles dozens of meters long launched into the sky one after another, racing toward Daniel.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A continuous chain of explosions erupted, and the crater grew larger and larger.
The advanced city vanished beneath the bombardment. Countless Kree citizens began melting beneath the overwhelming firepower, and massive shockwaves spread in every direction, obliterating everything in their path.
Watching the continent become increasingly barren while their own people died in staggering numbers, the Accusers continued shouting.
"Keep firing! Keep firing!"
Their eyes were bloodshot as they stared at the holographic display. Missile after missile launched, and the continental plate itself began sinking.
For countless years, aside from natural geological changes, Hala had never experienced anything like this. No one had ever accomplished such destruction, until today.
The entire planet was struck by a global earthquake, causing the ground to shake everywhere, the oceans to flood inland, and volcanoes to erupt. The entire world looked like it had entered the apocalypse.
Fortunately, the Kree's advanced technology minimized damage elsewhere, and aside from the continent where Daniel stood, the rest of Hala suffered relatively little.
"Is... is it over?"
The Accusers stared silently at the display. The entire continent had now vanished from Hala's map. Then, a figure shot out of the raging ocean.
Daniel.
"Could you at least be considerate? I was practically naked!"
The instant he finished speaking, he disappeared, and before the Accusers had even processed what they'd heard, Daniel flew back.
This time, he was wearing a new suit, gold and silver. Using his super vision to observe the miserable expressions on the Accusers' faces, Daniel comforted them kindly.
"You were this close. Seriously, you almost broke my defense."
Their expressions became even uglier, and their bodies trembled with rage.
Daniel suddenly felt like he was being a little too cruel. So, right in front of the Accusers, he bit his own finger.
The first bite wasn't hard enough, afraid of pain, he barely left a mark. The second time, he gritted his teeth and bit down with real force. Finally, the skin broke, and a tiny drop of blood appeared.
Daniel just flexed his jaw, saying.
"Man, I'm too hard, that actually hurt my teeth."
Then he proudly held up his finger.
"See? I'm bleeding."
The Accusers stared at that pitiful little drop of blood as it slowly slid downward, about to fall into the sea.
Their hearts raced with excitement, then Daniel calmly stuck his finger into his mouth.
"I'm bleeding. Better drink some blood to replenish it."
"Damn it!"
"Shit!"
"What the hell!"
Whether or not the Kree language actually contained those exact curse words, the meaning was more or less the same.
Even the normally composed Accusers completely lost their composure.
"Huh?"
Daniel looked at his finger.
"It's healed already."
This was the first time he'd ever been injured, and he had never known how powerful his regenerative ability actually was.
Apparently, it was very powerful.
"The first time I ever bled in my life, I gave it to you guys. Now are you all satisfied?"
Daniel said, because he just couldn't help it.
The Kree had been so enthusiastic. To welcome him, they had sunk an entire continent and killed hundreds of millions of their own people. If he didn't at least put on a little show, he'd feel bad about it.
Carol flew over beside him, looking like she wanted to say something. Daniel immediately understood what she was thinking.
"I didn't do anything," he said.
"I never fought back. They killed their own people."
"...Sigh."
Carol let out a long sigh.
"Whatever, they brought it on themselves."
"I'm done playing."
Daniel stretched his body, and a series of loud cracks echoed from his bones.
"Come on, let's go destroy that computer."
Carol shot him a helpless look.
"I'm annoyed."
She had spent the entire battle as little more than a spectator. Still, considering how many people had already died, she no longer wanted to remain here.
"Let's go, we'll find the Supreme Intelligence, then leave this place."
"I'll locate it."
Daniel activated his senses, searching across the planet.
"Looks like the Kree are about to lose internet service for a few days."
After scanning the entire world, he finally spoke. He discovered copies of the Supreme Intelligence all across Hala.
After all, it was a digital lifeform, so as long as anything resembling a network still existed, it could continue surviving.
Unless every server facility and data center on the planet was destroyed, the Supreme Intelligence could never truly be erased.
Those facilities were everywhere, and neither Daniel nor Carol had the patience to destroy every single one.
Unless they simply annihilated Hala itself, remnants of the Supreme Intelligence would always survive.
Over the next hour, the two of them flew across Hala completely unopposed, systematically destroying every major data center they found.
Finally, they arrived on the opposite side of the planet. There stood one enormous data center, and the Supreme Intelligence was hiding there.
The moment the Accusers saw Daniel and Carol, they instinctively tried to retreat.
Daniel walked up without the slightest hesitation and casually wrapped an arm around one Accuser's shoulders with a grin.
"Don't you think this feels like meeting an online friend in real life?"
The Accuser remained completely silent.
Finding it boring, Daniel let him go, and the instant he was released, the Accuser vanished in a flash.
Daniel and Carol entered the central server room. The holographic projection of the Supreme Intelligence appeared once more.
"You can't do this!" it cried.
"I helped you, Carol!"
"I was the only one who helped you! Remember when you lost control of your powers, I was the one who calmed you!"
"Oh, give it a rest."
Daniel walked over and punched straight through the hologram, dispersing it instantly.
"And you're still impersonating me?"
Brilliant light gathered in his palm, and a miniature solar flare rapidly took shape.
"You've dragged this out for enough chapters."
"You've had a good run, so farewell, Supreme Intelligence."
Daniel casually tossed the miniature solar flare forward.
The entire region instantly vaporized.
"There..." Daniel clapped his hands "... job done."
He patted Carol on the shoulder.
"Let's go. I know there are still fragments of it left somewhere, but I don't have time to keep chasing them down, and after today, even if it still exists, it doesn't deserve to be called the Supreme Intelligence anymore.
From now on, it can call itself the Supreme Idiot."
