some suit practice; got stuck by metaphorical lightning from god and decided i'm gonna draw Sonic stuff again. it's how i got my start 20 years ago and the more and more i try to tell myself i don't care anymore the worse my weird furry homesickness gets, so here's my boy.

i wanted more shine practice and remembered Sonic has a red race-suit in SA2:B. i opened the reference image, immediately hated my life, and went about simplifying the absolute shit out of that mess. i LOVE suit stuff, but i find suit designs awful to keep pace with and will never 1:1 replicate a design. i struggle enough reading image data on limbs let alone 'how do i rotate and stretch that pattern'. fgndjkfghdfg
anyway! this was done in Krita; there's a super fast, super loose shadow on it, and some of the shading layers are still up too high -- but it is what it is.

He's blushing as the suit pushes on various parts of his body, and he's got one hand on the ground and one pushed into the suit which is propping up his hand. His one leg is raised and the other is lower on a less-inflated portion of the suit. motion lines suggest the suit is automatically inflating itself -- and it's getting tight in certain places.
