Happy New Year everyone!!! I have had a nice week (I got Pokémon Scarlet and some cool long boots for Christmas - huge score) and I'm already having a good time with my goals. You might have seen my 2023 art goals video, and while I was editing it I was thinking hmmmmm, is this embarrassing? Should I quit immediately? But once it was done I ended up feeling pretty good, and I'm just happy to have this way to ~express myself~ that I really don't need to take too seriously at all. I'm looking forward to making more vlogs :-)
Aside from that, I worked a lot on the first animation I'm gonna be posting this year. It's about a skull, and it features a very tiny song from Hot Dad. When I've animated stuff before, I haven't really used backgrounds, but for this one I did and I think it adds so much of a sense of space to the video. I also think it's some of the most fluid and nice animation I've done so far, so I'm excited to post that in the coming week.
I've been drawing and painting skulls and skeletons a fair bit recently, and it's nice how palpably I've gotten better at them. I know the form of a skeleton a bit better, and that's really good imo. A thing to celebrate. My skeleton prowess. I hope to draw many more beautiful skeletons (they deserve to be seen).
The last major event of the week was, unfortunately, hurting my ankle. The perfect start to January. I vividly remember one year I got a splinter in my finger a few minutes after midnight on new year's, and I remember thinking, huh, what luck! Hopefully I'll heal up quickly, but it does give me plenty of opportunity to game, and I've been obsessed with Vampire Survivors recently so I'm gonna be upgrading my garlic to max levels.
Until next week,
see ya!
