By way of popular request I’ve officially entered the ice cream holder product category :).

The ice cream cone design was actually my wife’s idea, and I thought it was perfect. It’s functional, unmistakably ice-cream-related, and just plain fun.

To make sure it worked with more than one specific brand, I went to my local grocery store and bought every variety of little ice cream container I could find. Did I look slightly ridiculous buying nearly $90 worth of ice cream? Yes. But it was a business expense, so technically that makes me a professional.

This holder fits both 14 oz containers and full pints.

The bite taken out of the side is partly there because it’s fun, but it also gives you easier access underneath the container’s lid when you need to remove it. If you’d prefer a version without the bite—or want to see an entirely different style—let me know. I’ve already thought about doing a waffle-cone version.

You may notice that I didn’t include a spoon holder. I understand why they’re popular, but as someone with plenty of real-world ice cream experience, I see one practical problem: unless you completely clean the spoon before stowing it, melted ice cream can run down it and make a mess. That said, if enough people want one, I can absolutely create a version with a spoon holder or add a spoon holder that attaches to this.

A few additional details:

Prints as one piece with no assembly or glue

No supports required

Uses mostly basic print settings

Stable on a flat surface despite the tapered shape

Open underneath the container for any use you see fit

Fits inside many standard cup holders—including the ones built into couches and chairs

It also fits in a vehicle cup holder, I don't judge where you eat a pint of ice cream

I’ve organized the 3MF file a little differently this time, and I plan to use this approach more often going forward. It includes two ready-to-use plates:

Single-color plate: The entire cone is one solid part

Multicolor plate: The model is separated into color regions for easier multicolor printing

Just choose the plate that matches the way you want to print it.
