Here’s a requested item: a functional pen and pencil holder built into one of my football helmets!
The file includes two build plates:
One plate contains the cylindrical insert that holds your pens, pencils, markers, or whatever else you can cram in there.
The second plate contains a blank helmet and a modifier that creates the opening for the insert.
The insert has built-in locating features that orient it correctly and snap it securely into the helmet—no glue or additional hardware required.
You can print the blank helmet exactly as provided and/or add your own logo, or swap it with one of my other football helmet designs to turn your favorite helmet into a desk organizer.
Important setup instructions
This is slightly more advanced than a typical print, but it should still be pretty straightforward.
The modifier hole must remain in the correct position relative to the helmet. If you move anything around:
Right-click the helmet in the objects list and select Center to center it on the build plate.
Right-click the cylinder/modifier in the objects list and center it as well.
As long as both objects are centered on the plate, they’ll remain properly aligned and the hole will be placed correctly. Don’t resize or independently reposition the modifier, or the insert may not fit.

A note about striped helmets
I haven’t tested this setup with a striped helmet yet. It should work, but the stripe would need to be divided into two separate sections around the opening, which makes the setup a little more advanced.
If enough people are interested, let me know and I’ll jump in and work out a proper two-part stripe solution.
