It’s been about a month of radio silence from us, which usually means one of two things:
A) We’ve been deep in the trenches cookingB) I’m having some kind of existential crisis
Thankfully, this time it’s A.So without further preamble, let’s get into it.
Current Project: Otachan! Call to Action
As with most good projects, it turns out I learned a couple-a three things whilst working on this one.
When I first started thinking about doing a follow-up to our original 2019 Patreon Call to Action — and I mean years ago — my entire mindset was kind of fucked up. I kept telling myself (and the staff) that this project had to be “the one.”
All or nothing.Do or die.
It had to:
Tell the audience how we feel
Explain how to support the studio
Recapture peak 2019 Otachan magic
And somehow save the studio and my life
All in one video.
In hindsight: yeah, that was way too much pressure to put on a single project.
A big part of that realisation came from you guys in the Discord, the conversations, and honestly just waking up post-2025 with the thought:
Let’s just fuck around and eventually find out.
The moment I let go of the idea that this video had to save the channel, and accepted that it could just be a dumb, funny Otachan piece, everything finally clicked.
Ironically, something I initially loathed — a video whose core premise is asking for support, has slowly turned into a spiritual successor to classic Otachan. Not Otachan 2019 specifically, but the logical evolution of:
2019 → 2020 → 2021 → 2023 → 2024 → 2025and all the mistakes / lessons learned along the way.
Is it the funniest, best thing ever made?Probably not.
But do I fuck with it?Does it stick with me?Do I feel inspired while making it and sharing it with you?
Yeah. 100%.
And that gamers, is where the boner is made.
From a Production Standpoint
From a production angle, this project has honestly been really fun.
It takes everything I learned on Chibi Otachan and pushes it a bit further. Following my love for Di-Gi-Charat led us to a new Otachan design that’s genuinely cute and weirdly, through some subconscious twist of fate, it kind of circles right back to those 2019-era designs.
Which is… strange.But also kind of perfect.

Current target is end of February, though realistically it may nudge into March and I’d much rather it be right than rushed.
