In a landslide victory (well, the "Vote here for an OC" option came at a close second on the poll but that's beside the point), the popularity vote for this month's reward is Light Yagami from Death Note! It's been a while since I revisited this series but I used to be quite the fan back in the day, though I still haven't finished either the manga or the anime (though I do know what happens in the end to some extent - I won't spoil it though just in case). Say what you will about his personality, but Light is as sexy as they come as far as male characters from this series are concerned, and though I could've thrown L onto the sacrificial altar for obvious reasons, I figured I'd spice up my portfolio with a more villainous choice of victim for once. Trust me, Light deserves all of this and then some! ;)
This illustration is not only an homage to that one scene in canon where Misa Amane ended up held captive, strapped to a restraining device, and in a straitjacket, but to a ticklish take on the same scene by a vintage tickle-fetish artist who has since vanished from the face of the 'Net, but whose artwork was salvaged and archived by some other like-minded people specifically around the time that happened. Here it is, if you're curious! I don't usually condone reposting others' artwork without specifically crediting the artist know via tagging and/or having commissioned it yourself, but given the way some artists have been known to wipe their galleries entirely clean upon deactivating their accounts, there really wasn't a choice in this case, sadly. Anyway, given that Light really did end up in a prison cell at a different point in the series, I figured it'd be nice to switch things around a little and put him in the straitjacket as well, although I didn't draw the blindfold Misa had in the canon scene when I sketched this because I wanted to draw his tormented expression in full. Don't worry if you wanted the homage as complete as could be, though - the blindfold is going to be added as a separate asset during post-production.
