Devlog Update: UI Optimization, Worldmap Mechanics & Housing Systems

In this update, I’ve focused on the Optimal UI elements - including the start screen, options, and save/load systems. I have also integrated new Worldmap and Housing mechanics.

While I don't always detail them to avoid spoilers, please know that the storyline and "juicy" content are being updated constantly in the background. With the core UI and save mechanisms now locked in, the game’s base structure is officially stable. This means no more drastic changes to how data is handled - theoretically, the game is now in a "ready to play" state!

Optimal UI Updates

As you can see, the Starting Screen is now live(The godot launching screen will be replaced in release version). I’ve kept it simple, featuring dynamic time-of-day changes and typography for the title. Pressing any button will transition you directly into the Save/Load menu.

The Save/Load Menu is now fully functional. My goal was to ensure the system was familiar enough, offering multiple slots with customizable names. While this is a standard feature in many games, building a custom version was a rewarding challenge!

Worldmap Functions

I’ve added the Health Regeneration system both on the Worldmap and during combat. Health lost in battle now recovers gradually over time. However, natural regeneration is slow - reaching full health purely through time would take hours of in-game sleep.

To speed things up, players can Rest on the Worldmap. By spending a bit of time and a few resources at a campfire, your regeneration rate doubles, getting you back into the action much faster.

Housing Content

The Housing System is officially expanding! I’ve added interactive elements like house cleaning, sleeping, and furniture shop catalogues. Your choices in decor actually impact gameplay:

Better Beds: Drastically increase fatigue reduction.

New Mattresses: Boost your chances of finding rare resources.

...on and on.

A quick heads-up: you have a roommate who lives... very productively. The house gets sticky quite often, so you’ll need to tidy up regularly to keep your living space in top shape...or not, making the room even stickier, if you're corrupted enough.
