Devlog Update: Closed Alpha Readiness, Questline System, and More
In this update, I’ve integrated a Questline System into the game and finalized the login mechanisms for our Closed Alpha. I will be running a poll to see if we should launch the alpha now or focus on more updates first. If the community agrees, the Closed Alpha will go live next week!
Ready For Closed Alpha
The login system for the Alpha version is officially complete. If the poll results are in favor, Patreons will be able to jump in as early as next week. I decided to focus on a robust authentication mechanism rather than a traditional server-access model; this ensures a smoother, lag-free experience across different platforms without the risk of server crashes.
The first image shows the new login screen. Clicking "Log-in" redirects you to the official Patreon API authentication page (second image). Once you authorize the app, you’ll be returned to a "Login Complete" page, and your status will switch to Online. From there, just hit "Play Game" to start. This system uses Patreon’s official secure authentication, so it’s just as safe as a standard login. While I initially considered a private server, this approach offers much better cross-platform support and stability.
Questline Addition
I’ve implemented a Questline System to help players keep track of available stories and content. Since the game leans toward a sandbox style, I wanted to ensure players have a clear sense of what they can do and where the story leads.
The system functions intuitively: initial objectives are provided, and completing them unlocks subsequent quests, guiding you through the game’s world.
Storyline Additions
I’ve been hard at work on the script, adding new dialogues over the last few weeks. To accompany these updates, I’ve also illustrated several new CG scenes. I plan to keep the momentum going, consistently adding new story beats and artwork alongside engine improvements and new mechanics.
Community Poll: To Alpha or Not to Alpha?
My original plan was to launch the Alpha only once the game felt like a "Version 1.0." However, now that I have a reliable way to distribute builds-without worrying about server downtime or update errors-I’m considering opening the doors a bit earlier.
I want to be fair to my supporters and show that the game is progressing steadily. I will continue to provide weekly updates and Patreon-exclusive content regardless of the timing. That said, if you’d prefer to wait until the game is more content-rich, we can postpone the launch.
Q1. When should the Closed Alpha begin?
Q2. Which platforms are you most interested in? (The Windows version will be released regardless; the mobile version will follow once the Patreon authentication is stabilized for touch devices. I am also considering a Web version for instant, global, cross-OS access.)
