Hey guys!
This time a tease for bigger change in the item shop - I wanted to do it for so long now, but there was so many old code and remains of the old UI, that I couldn't touch without bricking everything. This is how the old item menu looked like:
.. but finally it's done! Replaced old static text box that was 'overdesigned' (or over-effected in photoshop), and replaced the buy screen with pc screen, fitting our item keeper theme. What's more, now all the 'game' details are in the bottom screen, instead of the character 'saying' it, which is more immersive. After 1.5 seconds of mouse not being hovered over any item, 'food' and 'back' buttons appear, so they don't always clutter the screen when browsing. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I also got rid of the "Subscribe" button both here and on the food icon - it was stupid decision to put it there, oof. This is how the new one looks like:
I also figured out an interesting way to make early game a biiiit easier: I'm adding a first week bonus for both tips and clients appearance. This will help with early money acquisition, in an interesting and explainable way!
Phew, there is still a lot of work ahead of me, but maybe the most buggy thing is finally done, still, it will be a busy week! But I plan to finish the update this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed!
Few people asked about the Mac build - I'm having troubles with making it active again. After spending few hours, pulling my hairs out, I decided to return to it later - this coming week, after all the little optimizations and changes to the game, I hope Xcode (that GMS2 uses to create mac build) will be nicer to me... or it's the developer apple key and I'm just stupid - we'll see. That said:
Good luck during your week and see you soon!
