[Season Andromeda] Progress Update XXX

Greetings,

sorry for being a bit late today. I implemented steam achievements and stats and started reworking the ingame menu for it. And I got the first reviews by steam back.

Steam Review

so the first review round by steam is through. I can put my store page online but I want to make a last minute change. On the big vertical banners are always Johannes and Reddick on the right side. I'll switch them for Pia to not put people off by thinking it's an NTR game. I got that criticism on other platforms before but never changed something about it. But I think hitting a potential bigger audience on steam this might be the better call. However, this means I have to go through another review for the page which should be rather quick however. So hopefully I can finally bring it online this week.

The review for the game build failed. Content-wise it's alright but I had a link to Patreon in the main menu which they don't like. Also I haven't uploaded Linux and Mac builds. Linux shouldn't be a Problem but I stell haven't gotten my hands on a Mac to test it. So I'll try to come up with something this week.

And I haven't had the steam achievements implemented yet, but had it mentioned in store page already. I also had to create 2 icons for each achievement (locked and unlocked) which I completely forgot about but I created custom ones.

Translations

Next week I want to look into translation. How to create them effectively and what are the legal restrictions. There are some great fan-made translations but I'm not sure if I can include them in a publication without walking into a legal nightmare if something goes wrong.

I'll still allow custom translations as before but I also want to include more languages in the steam build for a wider audience.

I only had a quick read on it and some other developers say they have quite good results with AI translations by Googls Gemini. ChatGPT doesn't seem to be that great for AVN's as it refuses to translate explicit dialogue and straight up hallucinates different dialogue and changes meaning. While I have a ChatGPT and Github Copilot licence I don't have Gemini licence yet to test and compare it. So, next week will be mostly research I guess.
