He is impatient, blunt, and rarely friendly.

Thank him, and he will pretend he never heard it.
But before every ride, Ryuji checks everyone’s helmet.
Is the chin strap secure?Did anyone forget their gloves?Is the least experienced rider pushing themselves too hard?
He always rides at the front,yet after every light, his eyes return to the mirrors.
He loves speed.
But he has no interest in reaching the destination alone.
Makabe Ryuji is not a gentle man.
At least, that is what he believes.
But once someone chooses to follow behind him,he refuses to return without bringing them home safely.

街で彼を見かけた人は、たいてい先に道を譲る。
赤い髪。鋭い目つき。背中に大きく刻まれたエンブレム。そして、遠くからでも分かるエンジン音。
短気で、口が悪くて、愛想もない。
誰かに心配されれば、「余計なこと考えんな」と返す。
誰かに礼を言われれば、聞こえなかったような顔をする。
けれど竜司は、走り出す前に必ず全員のヘルメットを見る。
顎紐が緩んでいないか。グローブを忘れていないか。慣れていない人間が無理をしていないか。
先頭を走るくせに、信号を越えるたび、ミラーで後ろを確認する。
速さが好きなのに、誰かを置き去りにしてまで先へ行こうとはしない。
真壁竜司は、優しい男ではない。
少なくとも本人は、そう思っている。
ただ、自分の後ろを走ると決めた人間を、無事に連れて帰ることだけは譲れない男だ。
