Hello friends,
This is the final Dev Report of the year. While December didn’t bring a lot of flashy new content — mostly due to the release of the update, bug fixing, and an unplanned short break — I still wanted to wrap things up, share some thoughts, and briefly talk about where things stand.
A Solid Foundation
Finishing work on update 0.4.0 clearly showed how necessary it was to rebuild all the core systems of the game. The time spent on this was absolutely worth it.Looking ahead to future updates, I now have a stable foundation that allows me to add story content more comfortably and much faster.
With the overall narrative structure, dialogues, and future mechanics already clearly defined, I can stay focused without constantly being pulled back into reworking fundamentals. Most importantly, this update gave me a very clear vision of what Parasite Inside will look like in its final form. Some cosmetic elements may still change, but the overall pacing, tone, and direction of the game are now set and will remain consistent until the end.
Social Activity & Community Communication
Due to recent events that many of you are already aware of, I’ve had to rethink how deeply I’m personally involved in day-to-day communication with the community.
Most people who message me privately — with questions, ideas, or feedback — don’t realize that they’re not the only ones doing so. Over the past month alone, I’ve been receiving messages from at least 10 different people every single day, with 5 or more new friend requests on Discord daily.
I genuinely try to reply to everyone (even though many answers are already covered in the FAQ), because I respect every one of you. However, I’ve noticed that this now takes up a significant portion of my time — time that could otherwise go into actually developing and improving the game, which is the core thing that brought us all together.
Because of this, I plan to significantly reduce my personal social activity. There will be a moderator or representative answering general questions on my behalf across platforms where the game is present. That said, I will continue to prioritize communication with Core supporters and long-time subscribers who have been supporting the project consistently.
I understand that this decision might seem strange or even cold — as if replying to people is somehow difficult for me. In reality, I often receive messages containing 15 lore questions and 5 gameplay suggestions at once, which can take close to an hour just to read properly. And there are many such messages.
So please don’t be offended if I don’t respond personally. This decision wasn’t easy, but the community has grown to a point where I must choose: either constant communication, or active development. Unfortunately, I can’t do both at the same time.I sincerely hope for your understanding.
Bugs, Bugs Everywhere
Now, a bit about development itself.
Surprisingly, update 0.4.0 shipped with fewer bugs than I expected. Fixing the major ones took a bit over a week. The issue with light flickering when using TSR is still unresolved, but I expect this to improve once DLSS and FSR are added.
Level Design Progress
Aside from social matters and bug fixing, I also managed to complete level design and encounter setup for the next three main story locations. There’s not much to show visually yet, but this is a very time-consuming and meticulous part of development.
Collectible Cards
Together with the artist, we’ve fully completed work on the collectible cards. This took significantly more time than I initially expected, but the result was absolutely worth it.All cards are now ready to be implemented into the game.
Even though this part of the work is finished, I plan to continue collaborating with this artist — you’ll likely see more of their work in the form of splash art or concept pieces in the future.
Game Trailer
Ahead of update 0.4.0, I decided that creating a proper gameplay trailer would be a good idea.I had to refresh my video editing skills and learn a few new tools along the way, but I think the result turned out quite well.
You can watch the trailer here:https://youtu.be/suNpmtFv5sY?si=c7aSepuF8KMy6x7t
As a small but important detail — the music track used in the trailer was custom-made specifically for the game, which helped set the right tone and atmosphere.
Updated COLOS-8 Outfit
As part of the overall visual improvements, the old COLOS-8 outfit started to feel a bit outdated. Because of that, I decided it was time to refresh its design.
The updated version fits better with the current visual direction of the game and feels more consistent with the overall atmosphere and quality level I’m aiming for.
Updated Game Information
Those of you who follow the game across different platforms may have noticed that the game’s description and presentation have been updated as well. The information is now better structured and more accurately reflects the spirit and tone of the project.
New screenshots and the trailer significantly improve the first impression of Parasite Inside and help communicate what the game is really about much more clearly.
Happy New Year!
I know people here come from many different countries and celebrate holidays in different ways, but I’ll allow myself to follow my own traditions and wish you all a Happy New Year.
I wish you peaceful skies, sincere smiles, and reliable people by your side. Spend more time with your loved ones, and don’t forget to take care of your health.I truly respect and appreciate every one of you who stayed with me throughout this year. Your support means more than I can properly put into words.
Thank you — and Happy New Year 2026! 💙
