Hi folks!
We wanted to wish you all Happy Holidays, all the cosiness and warmth you might want, and a Happy New Year c: Best wishes from the whole Dawn Chorus team!
This week I'm sharing our weekly devlog with everyone instead of only our Formidable patrons. With v0.53 done, I'm taking a break from writing until the end of the year. There's still a lot to be excited about!
Currently, I'm taking a short break for Christmas. December was an incredibly busy month and I need to catch up with my responsibilities outside the VN, which I plan to do between the holidays and the 3rd of January, when I move to Athens for a while. I recently started postgrad studies in Public Relations and Journalism, I need to catch up on homework and writing before the classes resume the next year - wish me luck!
In the meantime, we're releasing the preview version of Broken Harbours v2.0, the reworked and expanded version we've been working on on and off for about a year now. The planned premiere date is 31.12 - everything except the sounds and music for one scene is ready for release.
Next month I'll take things a bit easier. The last few months since September have been rough for me, with a few ongoing personal crises and general low well-being, and I need, if not a break, then at least a month without stressing over deadlines and long working hours. My plan for that month is to finish the swimming-pool scene and release it in a preview build, then write the other two possible options for the after-breakfast scene.
In December a legislation that would've finally change domestic dogs' lives in my country for the better, regulating minimum living standards for them, was blocked by our president. Very sad news for Christmas for all the chain-bound dogs in our country :(Being a dog half-owner and knowing what fantastic creatures they are, I feel like I have to do something - at minimum I want to donate 20% of December's post-tax income from Patreon to the local animal welfare organisation, but I also want to devote some time to writing articles on animal living conditions and widespread abuse.
That's all for now! Thank you all for these 5+ years together. All your support, all fan art, all the good words we've received, it's all been nothing but marvellous. You are the best fans in the world!- Keo
