Mariner -- Thumbnail, Sources, Runtime (Just recorded 1/2 of the narration)

A bit of a double-ping in 3 days here, but I just wanted to take a disparate bunch of things I felt worth sharing and bundle them together for all tiers here on the Patreon.

I'd like you to take a look at the Voyager video's thumbnail and compare it with this one, since that played an influential role in the design.

There is one secondary source that I cannot share here because it was a purchased book: "JPL and the American Space Program" by Clayton R. Koppes, purchased in eBook form from Yale University Press for $42.50 (it's actually cheaper to buy a hardcover from Amazon). Published in September, 1982. Fantastic for the early part of this video which will cover the formative years of JPL.

Second, regarding runtime: I have just finished recording approx. 33 pages of what is now a 67-page script. So far, the runtime of that halfway narration is 1 hour and 37 minutes. It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to assume that, once you incorporate interviews and launch audio and chapter breaks, this film will bust 3 hours. I've never felt more confident of that. It's not what I'm specifically AIMING to accomplish (actually, I want to start to tone down the scale of some of my projects so that I can meet my "3 films per year" criteria, aiming for stories that will take ~2 hours to tell), but it will be nice to know I can finally punch higher than "2 and a half hours and change".

My prediction at this moment is ~3 hours, 20 minutes. We'll see.
