Naturally, heading to FWA took up most of my time over the past week-or-two, but I still got a few things done. I don't have as many finished pieces to share as I'd like, but hopefully what I have to share is still of good quality! Plus, it's always nice to ramble on about my own doodles for a bit.
Thanks for sticking around, and please excuse the stream of consciousness style of writing this week. I'm still a bit tired from the con and post-con sickness, but I wanted to get this out as soon as possible so that I can move on to the next projects.
"Hey Chris, did I ever tell you that I learned Reversal~?"
Master pranksters like myself should always keep these important truths in mind: Turnabout is fair play, and your friends know your classic tricks just as well as you do.
(A little double TF comm for Kit~)
This is one of the two pictures from last week's TFTuesday stream. The other one is still unfinished, but I finished this one up in some downtime over the con weekend. If I remember correctly, I think I even snuck in some shading on it during the Pokémon Meet-up at FWA (I'm not particularly social in-person, sorry ^^;).
I'm a little so-so about the posing on Me-vee, but I'm pretty happy with Mew-Kit, and that's the important thing since he's the star of this picture.
On the topic of scheduling, I might take a break from the TFTuesday stream comms for a while. Doing them in this style has turned out to take longer than I'd hoped, and I have trouble getting myself to do a more sketchy style. Also, there's just too many of you to keep up with (sorry again ^^;). I'd like to take some time to reconfigure the process, adjust the prices, and get more of the main queue done. I'll keep you all posted on that.
I thought it'd be fun to model for a classic anthro scale chart, but I probably should've known it wouldn't be as simple as I thought it'd be, kip...!
(A little twist on an old furry meme that I finally finished for Mudkip Day this year! (after missing the prior two Mudkip Days >w>))
I had to double check Discord chat logs to make sure, but it looks like I actually undersold how long I've been sitting on this as a WIP/sketch. The earliest sketch I could find in the Discord server was from May 2023, so this has actually been nearly three years in the making. I'll try not to worry too much about what that means for my ability to finish the comm queue this year.
I rushed a little on this one since I was finishing it in the airport before my flight to FWA, which is why the final version doesn't have any real shading (and a couple of minor errors). Luckily, the original furry staircase didn't have any shading either, so that just makes it more authentic in a way. I fixed one error after I got home (even though I'm probably the only one who noticed): the eyes on the middle Mudkip stages. I'm willing to live with the minor background glitch at the feet of stage 3, though. Maybe I'll fix that if/when I make a shaded version...
On a lighter note, I'm thinking of adding the "Anthro Scale" to the YCH vault, since folks really seemed to enjoy it. I'm thinking about pricing it as a four-character piece (basically, you'd get an extra pose or two for free in return for sticking to a known plot like this); but as always, I'm worrying about getting it right the first time. I'm open to feedback and suggestions on this. Also, it goes without saying, I'll do my best not to make the same mistakes next time.
Plushie? I'm a perfectly normal Zorua, silly! Maybe your eyes are deceiving you.
You of all (soon-to-be-ex-)people should know how fallible plastic peepers can be~
(One more quick silly for Zorua Day before FWA really gets going. And yes, this is a TF threat~ ;3)
This is another sketch I've been sitting on for a while, dating back to a doodle I drew to tease a pal in May of last year. The exact details of the tease are between him and me, but it did indeed involve this kind of playful "I'm not TF'd as much as you are" scenario.
Anyhow, Zorua Day seemed to be as good an excuse as any to break out this old design and turn into a pattern-bellied plushie again. Who wouldn't want to be this cute and cuddly~?
Ditto is a deceptively tricky Pokémon to draw. Being so simple means that it's harder to hide any imperfections. Then again, being a blob does make posing a lot more "flexible" in another way.
Anyhow, this was just something quick I did up in about an hour for fun and to get back into the swing of things despite being a bit sick. I really should go blobby more often~
That's all I've got for now. I'll hopefully have more to share next time, including a couple of simple cards I'm working on for Little Troubles (assuming I get the okay to share them in secret here, of course). See you next time.
