DESCRIPTION

Well, that could have gone better. But hey, we made it in the end! Now that Octransfur is all over for me, it's time to look back properly. This is around the spot where things went off the rail and I pretty much committed myself to going into way too much detail for every single pic. I just can't help myself sometimes, sorry. Anyhow, here's the list with reflections and timelapses for each picture~

Day 9 - Reflection - For this one I somewhat borrowed an idea from a commission that I haven't had the chance to do yet. Oh, and of course I made a shameless Matrix reference (down to specific word choices). Fun fact: All of the actors for the original trilogy were given required reading for their roles in the form of thick philosophy texts (including the book Simulacra and Simulation) to prove they understood the underlying themes of the film, and Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus) was apparently the one who most readily understood the books.

Day 10 - Reverse - The request from Mato was vague on this one, so I had free reign to interpret the day however I liked. Looking back on it, it was a bit of a stretch for Reverse, but I just wanted an excuse to become Rotom again and indulge in a bit of inanimate TF, which is a mood that persisted for a while.

Day 11 - Object - Another day where I was given relatively free reign, and it was Object day so how could I resist making everyone toys? The background was full of cameos and detail, maintaining the theme of being overly ambitious. The specific rally car I based Duskie's toy form on was a Toyota Yaris, but that was more because it had the best reference photo rather than me seeking out the specific car

Day 12 - Slow - This was a free day, and so I got a bit self-indulgent. I'm an absolute sucker for every theme in this picture: slow burn TFs, TF in a medical setting (because then it feels more real), statistics, and being small. Plus I got the chance to show my Mew form more love, which is something I had been neglecting before Octransfur. I really want to revisit this setting more in the future.

Day 13 - Horn - I was badly struggling by this point in the month, and I had no idea what to even do for this piece, so after a few days of indecision I decided to lean into what I do best. That being: Teasing close friends, puns, and incredibly specific true-to-life scenarios. I've got at least three different horns in this picture, which I'm very proud of. Oh, and I got to be a Bonneter again, which is a bonus~

Day 14 - Volunteer - Yet another idea that ties into a commission that's been put on more-or-less semi-permanent hold, and another setting that indulges in those same tropes that tickle me from Day 12's picture. Add on a sprinkling of near-future design for this one too. I specifically borrowed elements for the design of the background from Detroit, a guilty pleasure game of mine~

Day 15 - Money - Oh hey, another overly complicated background! At the very least, I think I've been getting better at backgrounds with all the practice I've been doing this month, but it still kinda feels like eating my vegetables. Maybe I should try sautéing them. Anyhow, back to the pic. I've never played Luigi's Mansion or Banjo-Kazooie, but I feel like they could be kindred spirits. After all, in both you collect quite a few valuable goodies.

Day 16 - Change - This pic could have worked for Money too, which was stuck in my head while I planned it. Luckily, the good old reliable pun technique saved my tail on this one. And it gave me an excuse to go Pokétopian and Pichu in the same picture. Double bonus! The comic is still on its way, by the way, don't you worry. I've been engaging in a bit of rewriting and refining inbetween everything the last few months. But that's a subject for another time.
