Not an Amazon fan, I try to steer folks to comic shops and indy booksellers, but not everyone has that option. Also, we live with Amazon and it's the way life is and all that and the reviews help get our books seen and possibly purchased. So it stings when folks give a book a lower or negative review because of the condition of the book when it arrived. Authors and artists have nothing to do with the packaging of the books, taking us to task for the business practices and actions of others only hurts us. If you don't like the book, that's fine, post an honest review, that's part of the deal. But if you don't like the way the book arrived, don't shoot arrows at us. Mention it in the review, but keep the actual review honest. Take it up with Amazon, not authors. No one likes getting a damaged item in the mail.
Anyway, thanks to anyone who gave Nerd Inferno or the Beasts of Burden Omnibus (et al) a review on the site. I don't know ho w many reviews hits some algorithm but obviously the more the merrier. I was hoping Beasts would creep up to 50, I'm hoping Nerd Inferno might garner a hundred. But I don't really push it on people. The negatives on the packaging just drove me up the wall, though. It's hard enough to get books into people's hands.
