DESCRIPTION

Heroes Con was absolutely amazing. On every level. I'm still in a con coma so I'll post whatever pictures I have and maybe do some sort of con report at some point. But goddamn. The most successful show I've done in my career, even though I was a last minute addition and had no banner.. Even the information desk had trouble telling folks where to find me (I didn't make it into the con booklet/map, it went to print the day before I was added as a guest). On a personal and professional level, it was like a homecoming after eight years of not being there, or doing any large-scale conventions. I'm exhausted but incredibly happy with how things went. Friends, comrades, fans and new faces, thank you all for a wonderful time.

The tour goes on, despite my still not having unpacked from Heroes I have to get ready to leave here on Friday for my return to Four Color Fantasies in Winchester VA. I'll be signing at the shop on Saturday, we're scheduled for 10 am until 5 pm but if it gets busy like last year Erik will keep the shop open until everyone has their turn at the table to get something signed. They will have some copies of Nerd Inferno, so, first come, first served as far as that goes, because I dunno what their stock situation is.

Speaking of the book, it is pretty much sold out not only from the distributor but even from the evil empite online site, who probably glommed up the stock and was the cause of canceled customer preorders and allotments on orders from comic and indy book shops. And I am sorry for those issues.

But the good news is that I just learned from Dark Horse that the second printing is scheduled to be on sale July 3rd. So, copies will be available soon and it should be a lot easier to obtain a copy however you shop for comics/books. My thanks to everyone for helping the first pritning sell out so quickly, it's been extremely gratifying to see such a strong response to the new collection.

Finally, while the tour proper is ending this Saturday, I might be adding a non-local event next month, and we're definitely set for a new show called Comicopia taking place in Atlanta in November. It's a two-day show and I have the dates written down somewhere but the note is packed up in my Heroes Con baggage.

Once I'm back from VA and I rest up, I'll be able to get back to work on the infamously late commissions I owe folks, as well as a new script for Oni/EC. And I can start posting more regularly here again, thanks for your patience while the tour has sucked a lot of my schedule up since the book came out. I had no idea just how busy things would get.

Winky just curled up on a chair in the studio and I am going back to bed. I've been in bed almost non-stop since Monday night, save for bathroom and cat-feeding breaks. And time for two bowls of instant oatmeal, some lemonade and two little ice cream sandwiches, as well as time to write a few social media posts and take my meds. My back and arm and my voicebox are a wreck. Really feeling old right now. And then, too. Want to be ready for the drive to VA and hopefully a good, long, fun signing on Saturday.

Okay, that's all for now. Back soon!
