Hi everyone,
#-#-#- 1. (Probably Big) Sims Game Update Tomorrow -#-#-#
Watch out for mods breaking tomorrow.
No clue what might break but this is a bigger update than the last few.
#-#-#- 2. Following Up From Last General Post -#-#-#
In the 🔗 last general info post, we discussed and previewed: a. progress on CPS overhaul, b. an upcoming new set of features in RPO mod M1 called "extra opinions", c. the matter of publishing a browsable "RPO Collection interaction List".
Let's see where these things are at now.
a. CPS Overhaul Work in progress:
the bug that was getting the agent stuck at the beginning of the visit was resolved,
I'm dealing with another one which is occasional and causes Sims to be poorly evaluated when they shouldn't. As you can see, my testing sim paid the price.
I'm done adding agent reactions to witnessing "abuse" during a visit;
I'm finishing up on the system for sims to have the bad luck of a random visit.
I'm wasting a lot of time trying to test things by myself when they are too variable (number of children, household compositions, ages...).
I would like to put some things in testing but I don't know how to do it anymore because 1. the discord role for testers broke a month or so ago and I haven't had a chance to look into how to fix it and 2. last time I did a testing / BETA group, the files ended up being published as a functional release by pirates, which is bad on several levels. Fun times.
I'll cleanup some unfinished little tidbits and figure a way to get some group testing that's reliable. Expect that sometime between next week and the 25th at the latest, depending on how the patch hits.
b. "Extra Opinions": As announced in last post, this would continue development after CPS overhaul is released. Working on CPS overhaul and modding tools, so no further progress yet on this.
c. The "RPO Collection Interaction List" is now published 🔗 here. Its purpose is to help you locate in what menu a specific interaction might be when you don't remember where to find it. it doesn't list quite everything but it's close. I will update it at each RPO Collection feature updates.
#-#-#- 3. What Else is Happening / In the Making -#-#-#
As the first step in a series of upcoming structural changes to RPO Collection, the way its text is distributed has gone from "all text is contained in core" to "shared text is in core, and mod-per-mod text is in each mod" (this change will be published in the next update of the collection).
If you are a player: this change will be INVISIBLE to you and you don't have to worry about it.
If you are a mod translator and have translated RPO Collection, this change affects you. Read 🔗this post for more info.
New info sheet and ways to check your mods for updatedness. a tutorial and new tools to answer requests of some of you for more ways to access certain status info. This stuff is in proofreading and testing for now but you'll hear more very soon.
Little additions to my modder tools, which I'm always fond of working on
