Can't Download/Install? - See These Quick Fixes

Main Post
Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a goo start to April and are looking forward to easter. I’ve got a lot of exciting things to go over with you and the most of them being the new scene. Quickly with this I have animated this within the game engine itself. This has lots of benefits to do with how easy it is it edit, add things and probably most importantly now is file size, this scene should be a lot smaller than any of the other scenes however it uses more processing when the scene is actually running. It doesn’t use a lot more and I have done a lot of tests to make sure it all good but let me know if you notice any bugs or lag and I’ll see what’s going on.
Note - For the Beta there was quite a big bug that meant when you viewed a scene you couldn’t view any other scene until you closed the game. I think I have got this all fixed and working but let me know if you have any problems
Second to this an update to Mac has meant I have to name the game after its built, this should be fine and everything should be normal but let me know if there’s any errors while trying to open the game
New Scene - Th*ghjob On Side
Starting off with the new scene which you are hopefully all excited for. There’s a lot of new things to do with it however as its like an extra scene I haven’t really done too much work on the quest. I would also like to have this scene link in with unlocking the third floor however for now that hasn’t been added so I just have this quest kind of auto unlock until the third floor is added. Hopefully thats all good and there’s still a lot of things for you to enjoy in it :)
Characters Added
For the characters being added I have added the first batch like I always do with new scenes.
Thats 20 characters for you to enjoy each with their own head variations if they have them.
If you notice any problems loading them from the many ways of changing characters or loading the scene let me know and I’ll get that fixed.
Int he next update I will be focusing on adding the next batch of characters here and also to the Hole 4 scene s thats only had the first batch added as well.
Outfits
The outfits I have gone for in this scene are some of the generic ones I usually add and then also a few new ones I thought would be cool and work well with the scene.
The generic ones are the n*pple items you’ve seen in a few scenes now.
Then I also wanted to add the leg wear and while I was doing this thought it would be a nice idea to add some half off p*ntyhose like I’ve added to a few other scenes.
I then also wanted to get some p*nts added and thought I could either add them still on the character or also half off so I did both.
If you have any other ideas for outfits you’d like added to scenes let me know as with this new animation thing I think it makes it easier to add them. I haven’t tested it on bigger outfits yet but I can see how that goes
Third Floor - Coming Soon
For the quest I wanted to have it to do with unlocking the third floor but as this hasn’t been added yet I just have it auto complete for now. I am working on the third floor and should have some sketches ready to show soon but then after that it might take a couples more updates before I have it added in. But once thats done I can more this scene up there and also set up the quest so you unlock it :)
Speed Slider & How Speed Changing Works With This Animation
This part is one of the benefits to the animating within the game engine thing i’e done for this scene. Basically normally I draw every frame and then put that in and the animation plays that so when you slow the speed down it just makes the frames stay for longer which if you go really slow reduces the frame rate.
However for this one as you can see above when you slow it down there’s enough frames between that it looks just as smooth. I don’t know how big of a thing this ifs or you but I thought it was quite a nice thing.
It also works really well for the speed section option where you can change the speed of different sections.
New Animation - Is It Better Or Worse?
The main question with this though is, is the animation itself better or worse? I am going to do a poll for this in the progress post so I can actually see what everyone thinks but all these features like with the speed, adding outfits better, changing body type (In the future) won’t really be worth it if the animation itself isn’t as good.
So now that this is in the game you can have a look at how it is compared to the new Hole 4 scene and also some of the other scenes.
One other thing I will say is this is the first time I’ve done a full scene using the animation code way. I have done it for some outfits before but never a full scene so there is a lot of improvements I can make and it should get a lot better the more I do it.
C*mshot
For the c*mshot I wanted to have it done in the updated way I have been doing them recently and also have it in like stages if that makes sense.
So the first one comes out a lot further then a little less and then the last one just kind of falls out is the best way I can describe it. I thought this was quite cool but let me know what you think.
Speech Bubbles, Zoom Etc
For things like Speech Bubbles, Zoom etc I have got all of these set up from the start so they should all work. Let me know if you have any problems with them though.
The one thing I will say actually is the shadow. I haven’t added this yet as im not 100% sure how’s best to add it as I normally draw each frame I just move that and make it all dark but with this animated in the game engine I’ll have to see if there’s another way I can do it
Backgrounds
With the backgrounds I have added all the themes and the night but this isn’t like a new drawn one its the F*otjob From Behind one for now as when I move this scene to the third floor I’ll give it its own background with all the themes and night versions. This is kind of just a place holder until all thats ready
Eye Movement
This is a very small thing and not fully added as im still testing some stuff but basically someone said they would prefer to have the character be looking back at the guy. At the moment the eyes cant change where they are looking as I always had trouble getting them to mask right with everything else in the scene however I have learnt of a new way of doing it that seems to be working better.
I tested it with Harley as you can see above and if it all goes well I can add it to the other characters so I can change where they are looking for each scene. This will be a long process though as I will have to redo all of characters eyes but let me know if you think that will be worth it.
Characters Added To Scenes
The characters I have added to scenes this update are following on from what iw as doing last time which was getting most of the rest added to the M*ting Press Scene.
Here are some of the ones I’ve got this time and now I think its only Lola, Loona etc I still need to do but I will be getting them added here and to the other scenes when I have a bit more free time.
As for Hole 4 I haven’t added any more there just yet as I was focusing on the new scene but in the next update I will be getting some more added there and also some more added to the Th*ghjob On Side
Let me know if there are any problems with these though but hopefully they’re all working good.
Unique Outfits - M*ssionary V2 & On Side
Starting off with the M*ssionary V2 outfits I have got these added for Albedo & Ivy who I think have quite nice outfits.
As they are in this scene they will also work with all the other characters which is nice.
The plan was between the Beta and now to get a couple more outfits done for the On Side scene however there was quite a big bug that needed fixing so I didnt have time to get them done.
Luckily the outfit option has won the feature focus poll so I’ll be able to focus on a decent amount of them anyway for the next update. Hopefully thats all good with you and I’ll also get the feature where any outfit works with any character added to that scene :)
Still Images & Animations + Updated Outfit Code
Starting off with the image for this update. I have gone with this one for Jinx LOL
It has 4 variations like most of the other so I hope you enjoy all of them. I think it would also be a really fun one to get animated.
Onto the animations the one I have gone for is this Karlach one which people really seemed to like in the WIP post.
Finally a main thing I have been working on for this update is the code for the outfits. I have updated this to a new system that should actually work with changing the outfits now.
Here’s a couple of examples I tested it on but if you find and that still don’t work let me know and I’ll see if there’s anything else I can do.
Note Read This - For some the outfit thing still doesn’t work. This isn’t because of the code I have just gone through a few and realised I spelt the name of the outfit wrong for them. If you find any that it doesn’t work for just let me know the character name and I’ll get that fixed easily
Head Design - Emma F
For the head design this update I have gone with one of the new ones I showed you and I actually asked what one people would most like to see and when I first did it looked like Emma F was the one people wanted so I actually started on her before waiting for everyone to say and in the end it seemed Deer Girl was the one people most wanted.
I had already started on Emma though so I got her done and added to all the scenes but for the next head design it will be Deer Girl.
I also changed the colour for her hair a bit here, I think it looks a lot better particularly with her face shape and hair style but let me know what you think.
There was also a few design changes I made to the original sketch mainly with her nose and face shape so if you like that or prefer how it looked in the sketch let me know
Night Backgrounds - Rev C*wgirl (Back)
Finally the night backgrounds, I have gone with two scenes but like they’re the same scene just different backgrounds. Thats Rev C*wgirl (Back) and the V2 of the same scene.
All the themes have been added and should work but let me know if they done.
I really think thats all the scenes now so next update I will be working on the night version for the office when you’re not in the scene. It basically already drawn as you can see above I just need to add in the items and set it all up
