Patreon Project #50 - Desert Environment Project - Final Parts 7-8 * Available May 4th
Hey guys, this is it the final 2 parts of this landscape environment series. This has been a fun project, I am sure I could continue layering more and more stuff into it, but at this point, I think it is time to move on and cover the new Redshift 3.6 features. I do briefly cover the new Standard Volume, but I feel that the new shader will require a new tutorial series as it is a lot more powerful than our older shader.
In this final set of videos I go over using Speed Tree to generate a few higher quality Acacia trees, how to export and import them, and some adjustments that can be done to the shading before adding them to our scene. I also go over how to make some quick 2d texture cloud maps to use as shadow casters or even background filler clouds. I will also show you how we can shade our VDBs and things to consider during the cloud layout process, including atmospheric haze.
In the end, I export everything out as a render and throw it into Davinci Resolve for some quick subtle color correction and post-processing. Thanks again everyone for the support, this was a fun series, and I look forward to making a different environment project in the future. Have a wonderful week!
