Hey guys, in part 7 I will be picking up right where I left off in part 6. Moving into SpeedTree next to generate some improved Acacia Tree assets, as I have been meaning to make a few new ones after using my old tree over the years. I quickly dive in and go over some of the basics to begin building our tree forms.
Towards the second half, I go over some colliders to build out the shape and how to export the trees to Houdini along with fast importing and mostly automatic setup using ODTools SpeedTree importing script. While the import script does an overall great job at assigning all our textures and materials correctly, it sometimes misses a few spots so I go over the few areas it misses and some adjustments I think help sell the overall look of our trees in Redshift better.
In the next part, I will be going over laying out out trees manually using the pick and place SOP, our clouds and atmosphere box, along with the final color corrections. Thanks again guys for all the support on Patreon, I hope this was a fun learning experience for you, I really enjoyed this project series. Have a wonderful week!
