Early Access - Charm Stats & Team Builder Upgrades

Hey Patrons!Hope you're all enjoying Set 12 so far. We've been working hard to get the site fully updated, and made it a top priority to get Charm stats out as soon as possible. TLDR: Charm stats and new Team Builder features are now available.Charm StatsThese aren't available through the Riot API, so we had to come up with a way to gather that data through app users. We were able to figure out a solution & have started assembling stats by round for charm offerings. The nice bit about this is we can get stats for all players in a lobby if there is just one app user is in the game, so the sample sizes are already quite high.

One thing to watch is that there are some fairly significant biases with some Charms. For instance, the "Major/Minor Gambit" Charm in the screenshot above have a round winrate of 75%+, but only because they're picked when you're confident you'll win.Conversely, charms like Desperate Plea have bad stats because you only pick them when behind, but they are actually really great at saving you a couple of places.

We've cooked up an improvement to our team builder, a way to add opponent boards and see win-chance predictions (AKA the Boardle AI) based on different boards.

This could be useful to help you evaluate different board options and what units are strongest. It uses our machine learning win chance model trained on 2.5 million individual matchups.The model takes into account units (their star level, number of items, etc), items, augments, and traits, although not position. It has an accuracy of 83% on a validation dataset, and performs slightly better on early-game boards than late-game boards.One potential use if you run the MetaTFT App, is to search for your games, and directly import your boards into team builder with the button below.

I got way too dizzy in this game with 5 emblems, but maybe I could have assembled a stronger board in the mid-game to save some HP. I click the team-builder button and the two boards are imported and the win chance prediction displays.

After some playing around, I find that I could have bought the Katarina and played it over Twitch for a (marginally) stronger board.
