Next Report
Hi everyone!
I’m back with another progress report. Lately, I’ve been focused on wrapping up some key parts of this update and laying the groundwork for more complex technical solutions down the road.
First of all, I’ve finally finished working on the dialogue for the final event of this update - that very scene with Jennifer that takes place late at night. It was a crucial stage: I wanted the conversation to feel natural and convey the right atmosphere. I thoroughly reviewed and polished all the text to eliminate any rough edges, and I also prepared a detailed storyboard. Now I know exactly which frames I’ll need, which will significantly speed up the process of creating the actual images.
In addition to the main storyline, I spent time creating several small side events in the house. These scenes are necessary so that the game world doesn’t feel static: they trigger if you decide to interact with a character before the time of their main plot event arrives. From a plot perspective, they don’t contain any crucial information, but I promise you some very beautiful and juicy renders. I believe that such details add depth to the game and make interactions with the characters more vivid.
I also set aside some time to work on the game engine. There are still a few technical issues in the new version of the game that need to be ironed out. I won’t go into the boring technical details of exactly what I changed “under the hood” right now, but I will say this: these improvements will allow me to implement more complex and interesting mechanics in this version of the game. It’s also an investment in the quality of the entire project, one that will definitely pay off.
I devoted the rest of my time to the visuals, specifically the scene with Jessica in the backyard by the pool. As usual, the process began with setting up the 3D scene and selecting outfits for the characters. So far, I’ve prepared 53 renders. To be fair, they’re still in the early stages - they’re sort of rough drafts. I’ll come back to them for final touches and polishing only after I’ve created all the other images for this event.
And yes, get ready - for this scene, I have to create 8 animations. So you’ll get some hot moments literally in the very first event of this part of the game. I’m very happy with how the pool scene looks right now, and I’m sure you’ll love the result.
Overall, I can say that I’m not very happy with the pace. But I’m working on the game every spare moment I have, balancing speed and quality to finish developing this part as soon as possible. And I can already picture how it will look when the update is ready.
That’s all for now. I’m heading back to my “cave” to my monitors and renders.
Have a great weekend, and see you in the next report!
