Heya, I have a lot to show you!
Phase 3 of SB's Development was the one I was the most "afraid" of: Lots of UI, lots of mechanics and quite a bunch of quality of life features (and with those I'm not even done. But for now I'm happy with what I have)
Luckily, with some focused working, I was able to add anything that I wanted. And it looks quite decent in code if I may say so.
Okay, enough talk! Let me show you some screenshots! 💯
Susette comes home after a hard work day. Her clothes took a real beating. Some of them are even ripped.
She went to her closet to see if she is able to swap some clothes. She hasn't many yet, but at least they seem in good condition.
Susette swaped some clothes. But the player would love to see her walking around more... revealing. Don't worry, random Crow got you! You can make every clothing part visible or not!
Susette tries out her new outfit. It worked very well on the Slime, which conviniently hung out in the bedroom! As you can see, the clothes she equipped beforehand will get translated into every animation!
And that's how the Clothing System works. I hope you look forward to try it out yourself! ❤️
I prepared a video for you folks in Discord! Head over to the patron channel and you can see in full motion what I presented here as screenshots.Again, I'd love to just share videos here, but patreon doesn't allow this, as far as I know. Correct me in the comments, if you know more than me.
A few notes in random order:
I'm not sure, if I will keep a copy of Susettes character in the eqipment screen. I might replace it with a static image of her. Depends on multiple things, including the games performance
I might need to change some Materials for some clothing. Currently this "ripped" look is applied to every clothing piece, but it doesn't always look realistic. Like: Boots wouldn't look ripped like that, if they are damaged
Underwear gets protected by clothes above them! Socks(includes thigh highs) < Shoes;Panties < Skirt/Pants;Bra < Shirt
Therefore, underwear items have less durability overall
The current rate of damage absorption is 0.3 to 0.7. Meaning if 10 damage gets applied to the bra, 7 damage goes to the shirt
You might have noticed that the names of clothing items have different colours. Like in many other games there will be five different rarities of items: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Currently, every rarity has one more spot to have affixes (the stats that increase mana / health), than the one before. (Common has 1, Uncommon 2, etc.)
Affixes will be rolled once an item dropped. I currently went for a bigger range (min: 0.5; max: 1.5), but ultimatily it will depend on the balancing and gameplay polishing in the end of development of this first alpha release
Currently, there are only two available affixes for testing purposes (Mana / Health). Still, in this first alpha I will add more, which will be done relativly quick. Examples: Fire Damage, Lightning Bolt Damage, Casting Speed, Movement Speed, etc. etc.
Side note: During your adventures, the player will be able to swap clothes with a special portal. At home you have your closet (more on the gameplay site of things in way later posts)
Oookay, that should be everything I recall right now. If I forgot something, I will write it down in the comments of this post. Feel free to do so as well.
I will make a new post in a couple of days to tell you the details of Phase 4, which introduces Eleanor (again). For now this post is long enough, lol. Sorry, had to tell you quite some stuff.
Okay, Crow out! Have a nice day!
