DESCRIPTION

Hello everyone, welcome to this week's progress report.

Level: During this week, we continued working on the jungle in the Pillar Region, adjusting the landscape mesh to improve playability and creating various asset assemblies to place throughout the region. On the Level Design side, we finished the blockout of Umbar and fixed the small issues caused by moving elements around to better fit the planned quests. In parallel to that, we continued finishing the remaining foliage assets and implementing the assets for the Yterra shipwreck.

Code:This week, we made some tweaks to NPC comments, as well as resolved several issues with compass markers, including the markers flickering whenever they were updated. We also resolved ranged weapon reload getting cancelled when stopping aiming.

Character:We have been working on making first blockout versions of low-res NPC models for humanoids  this week. These will be used for many humanoid enemies as well as non-interactable villager NPCs. They will have many aspects of the character model and rig reduced/optimized at the expense of close-up fidelity so we can populate the villages and the combat zones with light-weight characters that won't affect the performance as much as our high fidelity characters.Additionally, we are making good progress on the outfits currently in our pipeline.

Animations: The Max x Shey minigame animations are making good progress and we are already at the final stretch for their peak encounter.

Design:On the quest side, we started taking a closer look at Zumon's dialogues before and after the Umbar party and how his own story with Max will wrap around that. We also implemented three new side quests, one in the Pearl Village and two in the Lake Village. We are also working on designing additional longer non-romance side quests.

Additionally, we have kicked off the visual overhaul of the game UI. We have been gathering references, and making designs and plans for the different assets needed to improve the look and feel of the UI of Wild Life.

Thank you for all your continued support,

-Wild Life Team
