Hey everyone. Hope you had a good weekend. I'm kicking off this week with a look at a big upcoming project.
For some time now, I've been working on Fenris' tattoos from Dragon Age 2. Or his Lyrium Markings, to be more accurate. I started working on it nearly 2 years ago and gave up because the design was complex, and it was a nightmare trying to get it to work with the different body mods and their seperate UV maps.
But as you can see, I've returned to the project.
I've learned new techniques since I first tried this, notably Texture Baking using Blender. So I grabbed the old sketches and refined the design, then first drew it for KS UV. Yes, I drew this by hand. And why yes, it took forever. But anyway, I got it done for KS UV. It's pretty much flawless. Getting it to VTK and Gymfiend was a legitimate nightmare, even with the texture baking.
Especially the feet. Oh my god the feet.
I had to make some minor edits to the VTK design due to how it was looking on the chest there. And had to completely recreate the feet part of the design. I also had to manually fix textural bugs that stayed after baking. As such, VTK and Gymfiend aren't as smooth/accurate as the KS UV versions. They're like 90-95% accurate. But I think they still look really good, considering.
VTK has one minor flaw but I was losing my mind working on this, so I just had to step back.

(I am going to work on glowing versions next, don't worry. And yes, I sadly had to censor these to comply with the almost nonsensical rules here on Patreon. You'll get the uncensored ones on Nexus when the mod comes out)
Right now, I am pausing the project while I replay the game. But once I'm done with said replay, I'll be right back to working on this. There will be multiple colour editions of this mod, as well as versions with and without the chest/face dots. Of course I will do a Blue Lyrium version to match canon. But I also plan on doing a Red Lyrium version.
Those two will be glowing!
Then I want to try and recreate the scar texture the lyrium markings have when they're not glowing. So yeah, lots of fun stuff coming. Keep an eye out for Supporter Reward posts, a Supporter Showcase, and new mods!
