Hey everyone. You may remember my post a month or so ago concerning my Aunt.
On Thursday morning yesterday, one of her sisters went in to check on her, only to find her unconscious and in a terrible state. Turns out she likely had a massive stroke and brain bleed. Everyone rushed over to help, and call 999 and such.
Unfortunately, she was mentally no longer there.
Just this Wednesday I'd seen her at my Nans birthday party. She was tired and looked sick but she was eating birthday cake and participating in conversations, enjoying herself.
But by yesterday evening she was gone.
She had a DNR so she was able to pass away peacefully essentially in her sleep, surrounded by everyone who loved her and meant something to her. To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement. This woman had an incredible life travelling the world as a dancer, performing in front of all kinds of people, even princes. She shared drinks with fucking gang members who took a liking to her and the dancers and protected them. She once slammed her foot down on a table for a dance and ended up with weapons pointed at her because one guy at the table was some important dignitary. Auntie Mags was such a bold and strong personality, fiercely independent.
Only to end up just gone mentally.
My comfort is she wasn't alone when she passed, and there was no pain at all. But yeah, to say I'm heartbroken is an understatement. She was more like a bonus grandparent than another Aunt. Alot is having to be organised with her flat, the general inquiry into her death because it happened at home. Not being treated as suspicious of course, it's just procedure. Then there's the funeral and her will and everything.
I may need to extend my hiatus and won't be very active on discord.
But I have mods prepared to publish. Just unfortunately I can't promise anything too regular. It's been an exhausting two days and I'm just still trying to comprehend the fact that she's gone.
