Howdy Howdy, was testing something out this week, snuck a few little renders out while I was working at it, just a little visual stimuli for your day.

This week will be my ever exciting junk drawer week for the month, I have a smattering of general dev nonsense to prune down as per usual. Nothing exceptionally exciting amongst the tasks, I have to move my render PC to a new case tomorrow, but that's pretty light work, and I'll be doing a little experimentation in DAZ 6. Boring technical talk here, but for those who aren't aware most of us have been working in Daz 4, forever. Daz 6 has just recently released (they skipped 5 for whatever reason, don't ask me why.) I've been using the alpha and beta for a while now, since it was the only version that would support a 5090, but many of the plugins I use are not compatible so really it's only use so far was rendering scenes posed in 4. But hopefully with the wider release those plugins will start to become available. I've heard from a few other developers who've started using 6 more that it has a notable speed increase, though a few issues still getting worked out, the speed in saving, loading and rendering may be worth them. I don't expect the thing will actually be worth a full time switch over for many months yet, but it may be worth starting to get a feel for it and draw my own conclusions. Either way wouldn't make a switch until after Part Nine is out and it won't fuck with any of my current work. Other than that I have a little animation blocking to do this week, just want to get a little general story-boarding in on them early.

Also on a positive note my experimentation on the large scene actually worked out better than I anticipated, not only did it give me exactly what I wanted but I ended shaving off about seven minutes per render, which is a lot so I'm chuffed to bits about that.

That covers most of my thoughts for the week. Managed to change my schedule a bit, so we will be having our monthly art stream this Sunday the 28th at our usual time of 1pm Pacific/4pm Eastern. I haven't decided exactly what to show yet, but in caution just assume it will be a spoiler stream. I'll also be posting a really big technical behind the scenes for the Blue Belts this Sunday as well. It was meant to come out last weekend but ended up getting more in depth than expected so needed more time.

That's the news, thank you for your support, as always. and I hope you have a wonderful week.
