Hey folks. Trying something a little different today with our post. Generally I just sneak a few renders out and let them speak for themselves, but I saw another dev do something like this and thought it would be fun to give it a shot. So for scene showcases I'll still have some renders, but they'll be joined by some of the script as well. You can get a a little glance under the hood at how I script if you so happen to be curious.
So this is an early warning that everything below has more spoilers than usual, if you really try to avoid them you should probably skip this one.
Also do keep in mind this is still a draft and renders and script are subject to change.
Scene opens on an early morning in the Valentine household, the man himself sitting and munching on a bowl of cereal.
a "Fight week!!!"
The silence is broken by Amrit, Valentine glances up to see her posing as though showing of a game show prize, thoroughly proud of herself
After a a suggestive eyebrow dance she pouts at Valentine's lack of reaction.
a "No ...?"
mc "No."
a "I've been waiting half an hour for that."
a "You're less fun these days."
mc "I suspect you're the only person who ever had fun with the fight week ambush."
a "So?"
a "As my head coach, it's part of your job to do things that bring me joy."
Valentine looks at her confused.
mc "When the fuck did I become the head coach?"
Amrit returns the look, now unsure herself
a "Are ... Are you not?"
mc "I always assumed it was Alistair."
The two stare at each other for a moment before Valentine smirks
a "Not funny."
She perches herself on the counter with him
mc "I was just trying to be more fun again."
a "Not your best work. Keep trying."
mc "Hmmmm."
At this challenge Valentine glances around, as though deep in thought about something, finally he speaks
mc "Okay, I have something really funny."
mc "You're supposed to open the gym this morning."
mc "And since you chose to lie in wait to ambush me ..."
Amrit stares, baffled as to what he's driving at, but then she realizes ...
a "Bleeding hell!"
a "I'm going to be fucking late!"
She sprints from the kitchen
After a moment of silence Valentine speaks to himself, a sardonic amusement lacing his voice.
mc "See? Hilarious."
Fun fact, despite the appearance of Amrit this scene actually shows up in the Vi, or solo openings of the update. And if you happen to be on the Amrit path you'll get another scene entirely. Very confusing I know, but that's part of the fun.
Anyway I'll probably try to do one of these scene showcases per month, this one is for June, but I'm late so there will be another one for July later.
