Ya know it’s a weird thing to say about a BlackStar fig, but I think this one might’ve been a tad over-designed!
Perhaps my brain is used to seeing plain legs and arms on the original/official Two-Face from AGES ago… but there’s just something… extra about this fig. Maybe it’s all the wrinkles, or those big cuffs? idk... it’s not a bad figure by any means, but just, a little too much maybe? Or perhaps it’s personal taste?
At any rate! It’s still a wonderful fig!
The full commitment to the two-sided design is great! The torso and hips are white plastic, so to get all that black in and around this fig (even up into the shoulders!) is a wonderful treat!
The face is also pretty good! It’s interesting how you can see the range of BlackStar’s Pad Printing machine based on its overlap with the extra ink wrapping around the headpiece...
The hair is also really nice! Very simple and Lego-like! It also bodes well for the BTAS’s style of minifigs (bit hard to photograph with a white backdrop though; I really should've reshot this photoset (oh well) 😅)
Oh and there’s also the coin! Again, simple with no complaints from me!
It’s a good fig! Nice to finally get this fella in the collection!
Given the nice price of $80 for this fig, I would’ve been willing to raise it a little to get some extra facial designs or accessories. Like a shouting face, or an angry face, or even his iconic shocked face from his two-part origin episode...
Other than that, including a tommy gun would've been cool. Or a transparent piece so you could pose the coin flipping mid-air! I mean more is always better, especially when a fig is under the $100 sweet-spot!
But for $80, what we got is still just fine for me! :)
