May 8 Update for both SDA and Ashe - Hey folks! I’m currently traveling and ran into some file transfer issues. The early access build for both mods is ready and safe - I’ll be uploading it shortly once I get the files properly transferred. Thanks for your patience!
Hey everyone! As promised, here’s the first playable (well, playable-ish) dev build for Version 4.2.
All quest logic, scripting, and code are locked -- you can run through every scene -- but about half of the new custom conversations are still silent placeholders. (Kerstyn’s finished WAVs are ready; I just need more time to wire the remaining name-drops, Daegon banter, and the big batch of custom-name greetings.)If you want to listen ahead, the edited WAVs are available in an earlier post.
What’s in this build:
Full conversation flow and first bug-fix pass (both voiced and placeholder unvoiced scenes -- just need Fuz Roh D’oh if unvoiced bothers you)
Daegon banter fully coded (unvoiced)
≈ 50% of custom conversations already fully voiced
What’s missing:
Remaining custom-name greetings and name-drop reactions
Daegon follower banter VO
Final polish and mastering tweaks on some audio
Why release a partial?
Wiring over 900 voice and lip files turned out bigger than expected -- and rather than push everything back even more, I’d rather let you start quest testing now.
If you prefer waiting for a more polished dev build, no worries! This snapshot is mostly here to show real progress and let early testers dive in.
Sorry again for the delay on a fully-voiced build -- this has been much bigger and heavier than I initially estimated. Thanks so much for bearing with me!
What’s next:
7–8 May: Fully-voiced dev build (essentially RC1 / early access for 30 May)
30 May: Public release
Testing notes:
If Serana goes mute mid-scene, it’s prob unvoiced dialogue.
Otherwise, all bugs (flags not setting, idle stacking, quest skips, etc.) are fair game! You can report them through comments on this post or just DM me directly.
Scale of this update:
Over 900 new voiced lines!Serana now recognizes more custom player names than even Codsworth did in Fallout 4.Thanks again for your patience -- easily the biggest custom content drop in SDA’s history!(Seriously... if I hadn't split this off from 5.0, that update would have ballooned into the stratosphere 😂)
Thank you again for your trust, your patience, and your help refining this.Your support lets me push polish without burning out -- and I’m excited to keep you updated as we get closer!
