Hey everyone, hope you are well.
I will start with a special thanks to zaaryyy, MareaTurbo24v, and DJ ReKap Gaming for helping me test this update before release.
Another special thanks to our Community Manager EnclumeMagique, for keeping the server alive, providing support, and helping me focus more on development.
I know it's been a long time, but as I promised, it was worth the wait. This is one of the biggest updates yet, and I tried to include every single feature that has been requested.
I sadly have hardware problems that cause GTA to crash very often. I finally managed to shoot a 4 min video, but there is stutter (for the same reason). If ya'll can shoot some gameplay and upload it so I can link it here that would be amazing guys!
Here is my video: https://youtu.be/IAwFZo-h1TE
Also two small teasers: Third Person Camera and Chase Camera
------------------------------------------------
Let's start:
General
Fixed Force 3rd Person Audio setting
Fixed toggle key not storing default value properly
Fixed minimap flickering
Added option to override ViewPointV's minimap functionality - enable this if you want to use a mod that dynamically enabled/disables the minimap
Improved tutorial
Various UI changes
New experimental body camera: Weapon Cam - currently in early alpha stage. Activate by pressing NUM1
On Foot First Person Camera
Gunplay mechanics overhaul - default GTA aiming is very simple, the bullet goes exactly into the center of the screen, unrelated to the weapon at all. It was very visible when using the FP camera, with bullets appearing to go diagonally. I implemented my own gunplay and overriden the default mechanics. The bullets are now fired exactly from the weapon's muzzle, into the direction the weapon is pointed at. That means that even breathing will affect aiming (I can add "hold breath" maybe, if you'd like. Comment below if you're interested).
You can now fire the weapon at any moment, even when not aiming, as long as the weapon is loaded. That means that spamming the fire key mid reload can cause you to accidently shoot someone standing near you, so please be responsible, and always practice gun safety.
Aiming Down Sights mode - finally you can use iron sights and scopes with ViewPointV's First Person Camera! This one took a lot of time to develop, and I am really excited for you to try it out. You can switch between hipfire and ADS using Mouse Wheel Up
Weapon center offset - some of you wanted the weapons to be centered, some of you wanted them to be on the right side of the screen. I added a slider to move the camera so that you can tweak it to your liking
Weapon movement multiplier - some of you didn't like the movement at all, some thought it should be more pronounced, some thought it should be reduced. Now you can tweak it to your liking
Head bobbing - I implemented head bobbing from scratch. You can now configure the positinal bobbing and rotational bobbing separately
Screen shake - you can now configure positional screen shake, and rotational screen shake separately
Live Config - player will auto aim/shoot when changing settings mentioned above, so that you will be able to see the result without closing the menu
Fixed camera behaviour on ragdoll
Fixed camera behaviour when falling
Fixed camera behaviour when getting up
Fixed shooting from behind cover (switch to ADS for accuracy)
Fixed player rotating when walking left/right
Added acceleration/deceleration to sprint, inspired by SQUAD
Added the ability to free look by holding Z (works in both hipfire and ADS modes)
Vehicle First Person Cameras
Fixed camera snapping/autorecentering
Added Free Look toggle using Z - when moving your mouse you will see a small dot on the screen, this is where the player's eyes are looking. When pressing Z, the player will rotate his head to where you're looking. You can look around freely until you press Z again to toggle Free Look off, and to recenter the camera
Fixed leaning not working when looking around
Added recoil screen shake
Added auto look back when reversing - the player will turn his head back automatically when reversing. The player can look back through the driver's window, or the rear window depending on what is closer
Fixed default vertical rotation
Fixed motorcycle FP camera
Improved G Force camera movement
Vehicle Chase Cameras
Fixed snappy behavior when recentering after looking around with mouse/joystick
Added a reticle when aiming
Improved camera following – vehicle now centered more aggresively to reduce eye strain
Fixed limit rotation slider (now skips 10° instead of 1°)
Improved interp, smoother movement
Added a slider to adjust roll rotation amount on turns
On Foot Third Person Camera
Fixed camera lagging behind when sprinting
Added ability to zoom in/out - hold Z and use mouse wheel. Aiming and non aiming zoom levels are separate
Reworked head bobbing
Reworked recoil screen shake
Added a slider to tweak head bobbing amount
Added a slider to tweak positional screen shake
Added a slider to tweak rotational screen shake
Improved interp, smoother movement
