Couldn't resist the urge to do even more stuff for the 4skin Day. I don't remember already how but I suddenly remembered about Japanese computer NEC PC-88 (the one I worked with one year ago and made few images with Zed and Mark in a style of early primitive PC-88 text quests) and got a sudden craving to work with it again but this time more elaborately. The thing is, the primitive style of my first PC-88 pixel art was intentional, obviously I can do way more elaborate art but I wanted to imitate that silly aesthetic of first PC-88 quests like Princess Tomato in Salad Kingdom or Dezeni World
(I already shared these examples back then when I made my first PC-88 works but just in case you forgot)However, both PC-88 and artists making games for it improved greatly over the years and used faster processing speeds to do way more detailed art with more intricate patterns (early versions PC-88 just took a lot of time to load images even as primitive as shown above)
This is how PC-88 games looked at the system's prime! Hard to believe they used the same 8 colors as the early games but thanks to very high screen resolution the dithering patterns did some real magic creating an insanely convincing illusion of having a countless amount of shades and in theory the blurriness of CRT TV must make it look even more smooth and less checkered.
I spent a lot of time back then gathering all possible dithering patterns from numerous screenshots (the bottom row of each line shows the color each pattern technically makes) and now these materials finally came in handy. Of course I didn't use it all to full extent as my characters are very vibrant and don't need much realism and nuance realistic tones but still it was a bit more complex than my first PC-88 artworks.
This way, if you look closer at my works you'll see that backgrounds are not actual lighter shades of yellow but just yellow-white patterns and triangles on Jack artwork are red-magenta checkered patterns which make them look much more reddish than pure magenta used for Jack's body, just look how different yet equally solid they look from a distance! Most other patterns look more obvious but still make a nice convincing illusion of a different color. It's simply just a couple of groovy pin-ups with Jack and Zed with all their sexy assets drawn the way I always love drawing them, didn't have neither time or motivation to do Astro as well, the only new thing I decided to do for a variety is to draw Zed with my favorite pear shaped body type while still giving main focus to his giant cock.Btw, the Japanese text on both artworks says "Happy Foreskin Day!", I had to consult my friend who knows Japanese to make 100% sure I'll write it right because Japanese is very tricky and you can't fully trust Google Translator with such tasks. I'm very happy to finally work with Japanese lettering because I always loved how different and unique Japanese 80-90s font design was since their letters are so different from Latin and required a very different approach. But speaking of new things, surprisingly these works are not without some extra dirty stuff! Who'd expect that I'll go above and beyond doing super filthy stuff with PC-88 graphics (even though I did quick smegma edit of one of my first PC-88 pieces before) yet here we are. I guess when you have your beloved character all big and round with massive dick you just can't help but mess around with it a bit more. I started off with more innocent things, baring Zed's glans once again which I haven't done in a while and of course for pretty obvious reasons - to cover that juicy head with lots of cheese. As silly as it looks in PC-88 graphics, I have to admit it got me turned on and so I moved all doing EVERYTHING else I love to do. Farts, belches, even piss, you name it, it's all there. Gases actually became a nice opportunity to try other nuance tones. Of course it's still a bit hard to look at and gradients are a bit unpolished since I was rushing with it but I still enjoyed what I did a lot, I mean I jerked off to this successfully lol. Even did a filthmonster recolor which is the first time I'm doing with Zed actually, who'd imagine I do it first in PC-88 graphics haha. There's also one little experiment I did which you can see on two versions of belch edit above. The first picture shows more solid version of gas clouds but the second picture shows how you can imitate semi-transparency by clearing every second vertical line. It looks a bit too pale so I prefered to leave solid version for the rest of the alts but still it looks pretty neat, maybe one day I'll use same effect in future PC-88 works. Now I'm really done with 4skin Day art and probably pixel art as well! There's so many other ideas waiting for me, I mean commissions and the goddamn Easter which is already TOMORROW, I mean jeez, I wish these holidays could give me some break, why it's so tight? I'm not sure now if I actually manage to finish my Easter idea in time tomorrow, maybe I'll release it a bit delayed. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the stuff I did here!
