As I've begun reworking the Pear Animation to make a quicker version, I wanted to give you guys a look at the current state of the animation.
It's just starting to get off the ground after my initial plan to rework the animation into a more simple showcase animation, and I can finally get to work on it, as the collab piece releasing early next month is nearly ready to go.
This animation will showcase what I've achieved in Houdini, and how fast animation is with motion capture at my disposal now.
I recorded the mocap featured in this video tonight, and am already making good progress on the polish work for the mocap. It still needs a fair bit of fine tuning, especially for the face mocap because the eyes like to stay closed when I'm looking down and inward. The clean up process is going really smoothly though, and it's mostly thanks to Animation Layers, a new plugin I picked up in February to help me clean up a bit quicker.I'm using it in this animation currently, and the special project releasing very early next month in collaboration with the other creators.
After I'm finished with the posing, foot locks, and other various adjustments I need to make, this will be moving over to Houdini for most of the simulation work, and the good news is it's already mostly setup, and it should just be a simple plug and play, and export to Blender. It should be like that, but of course it'll probably have some issues, and need some tuning for this project specifically, but I already have an outfit picked out.
I understand I've been a bit slow to provide updates for this project, and I really appreciate the patience you all have shown, and I really want this one to be out as soon as possible. My schedule is pretty clear for a while, no new events or moving happening, so I can focus on animation.
I'll provide more updates as the project develops, and hopefully next time, the next post about this project will be from Houdini!
And taking this opportunity to provide an update on the next model coming up soon, the new model will be available sometime in the beginning of April. The model is finished, I just have to get it ready for public release, and it'll be out for you to use in your own projects! It's a really cool one, and not something I'd usually make, but it's certainly unique, and I think you'll all really like it ;)
Alright, till next time! Thanks everyone!
