Hey everyone,
This week has been focused on building one of the most complex and important systems yet for NeonStrip: the Action Cue System.
⚙️ Action Cue System Development
This system powers dynamic actions during conversations, allowing dialogue to trigger animations, expressions, and scene cues automatically. It’s a huge step toward more immersive and cinematic interactions between the player and NPCs.
Developing this feature has been a major task — it involves:
Deep integration with facial expression drivers, animation controllers, and timeline events.
Dialogue matching and event detection to connect player speech or AI responses with appropriate NPC reactions.
Extensive testing and refinement to ensure everything syncs smoothly during gameplay.
Because of how large and technical this system is, this week’s update may seem smaller on paper — but it represents a major leap forward in the game’s long-term interaction design.
👩 Character & Customization Updates
Outside of system development, I’ve also been refining character details and customization options:
Added new hair and glasses options for female models.
The new female character is now fully placed into the world map.
Her rarity type is currently set to Rare.
These updates give more life and variety to the NPC population and expand customization depth for future builds.
🧠 Summary
Most of this week’s work has been technical and behind the scenes — but it lays the groundwork for much more expressive, believable, and dynamic interactions. Once the Action Cue System is complete, it’ll open the door to smoother transitions between dialogue, expressions, and animations.
Thank you all for your continued patience and support while I work through this complex system. Every bit of progress is helping shape NeonStrip into something truly special. 💜
