Hello Friends,
This week’s development focused heavily on NPC behavior, world immersion, and everyday life systems, pushing NeonStrip closer to feeling like a living city rather than just a backdrop.
🧠 NPC Routines & Ambient Behavior
I’ve been refining NPC routine behaviors, with characters now acting differently depending on the time of day. This is laying the foundation for a more believable world where NPCs feel like they have places to be and things to do.
On top of that, I’ve started implementing ambient behaviors:
NPCs sitting down or leaning against walls
Casual conversations between NPCs
Talking on their phones
Smoking and drinking animations
NPCs won’t just endlessly walk around anymore—you’ll start seeing them exist in the world.
📱 Mobile Phone UI Improvements
Work continued on the in-game mobile phone, with updates to the UI and new graphics. This system is becoming a central interaction hub, so improving readability, style, and usability is a big focus right now.
🏙️ World & Map Updates
Added a new garage building
Updated and refined several areas across the map
Continued visual polish to better match NeonStrip’s overall aesthetic
These changes help break up repetition and give different parts of the city more identity.
A lot of this work is foundational and doesn’t always scream “big flashy feature,” but it’s critical for making the world feel alive and reactive. These systems will continue to expand as more behaviors and interactions are layered on top.
As always, thanks for the continued support—it genuinely makes it possible to keep pushing NeonStrip forward. 💜
