Hi everyone,

Hope all you GMs managed to jack out, recharge, and survive the holiday downtime. It’s time to boot the system back up and dive headfirst into a new year of TTRPG chaos.

To kick things off, the first battle map of the year drops your players into an old-school video game arcade—flickering screens, humming machines, and that unmistakable low-grade synth buzz that screams cyberpunk hangout. These arcades are classic neutral ground in neon-drenched cities… or at least they pretend to be.

The Layout

The premises is divided into two main zones:

The main gaming floor, packed tight with arcade cabinets, glowing marquees, and narrow aisles perfect for ambushes and running gunfights.

A small manager’s office, where credits are stored—and where quieter, shadier business is conducted out of sight of the public.

Places like this are rarely just about games. In the underbelly of a cyberpunk city, arcades make excellent fronts for money laundering, syndicate meet-ups, and off-the-books transactions.

At the rear of the arcade sits a nondescript doorway leading to somewhere… undisclosed. If you want to escalate things into a larger, multi-map firefight, the Video Games Arcade can be narratively linked to the Pachinko Parlor I illustrated a couple of years back.

There’s also a pair of male/female restroom doors, offering the perfect excuse to drop in the Public Toilets battle map from last year—because nothing says cyberpunk like a brutal encounter under flickering fluorescent lights.

Map Variants

Barricade Cover

Arcade machines and tables have been violently overturned, forming improvised barricades. What was once a place of fun is now a kill zone, with hard cover scattered across the floor and tight sightlines between cabinets.

Secret Safe

Inside the office, a large, slightly out-of-place painting is inset into the wall. Slide it aside and you’ll uncover a hidden safe—stuffed with credits, data shards, or something far more dangerous.

Closed Arcade

After hours. Shutters down. Overhead lights cut.

Some arcade machines still glow softly while others sit dark, their screens reflecting in puddles on the floor. The result is an eerie, electric ambience—the perfect window for syndicate meetings, covert exchanges, or deals that aren’t meant to survive until morning.

Neon lights, humming machines, and secrets behind every wall—welcome back to the city.

That's all for now folks! Please stay healthy and safe.

Speak soon,
