Video format Q&A was fun. Writing out the answers probably would have been cleaner, lol. But to hear my train of thought brings some genuine-ss I think. Anyways, here's the link to the video. Also, attached are the 4K and HD renders of the render I was working on in the video.
On the development side of things, I'm making progress. I was hoping to have the breakdown of what scenes are left for the update. I'll have that next DevLog though. Going through the scenes, I decided I'll be moving two more scenes to CH8. It's the one that involved Koko's branched scene where you choose to take her running on the coast or the dog park. I considered choosing one over the other, but both scenes contribute to the main story (via Public Opinion points) and instead of cutting those scenes. I felt it's best to write it so Aiden apologizes to Koko and promises next week. And with Artemis being back with you next chapter, it'll add for more to the story to include her in those scenes. Especially for what's to come for these two in Book 3. So this shaves off another two scenes I have remaining.
I also wanted to discuss something briefly. I've already mentioned this before, but for those new here. Artemis does use AI generated TEXTURES for mundane things like props. Meaning things like background advertisements, posters, some textures for clothing. I don't use AI for actual renders or animations. I bring this up because I was catching up on inserting renders into the code and saw this scene. The girls a watching a romcom and before working on this scene, I almost created an entirely new scene to produce images for the movie they're watching. Would have poured time creating two random characters, the settings, props, etc (since the images change as the main scene flows.)
So, I felt it was better to have the fake movie the girls are watching be AI generated. So these are the examples of how I use AI in my workflow. I know it's a big topic, but rest assured I only use them for background props and not the main render itself. Just wanted to address this so when this scene pops up, you know the behind the scene detail for this. That is if you're even paying attention to the background and not the girls, lol.
One last thing. After this update is out, I'll be going back to tweak the cemetery scene from CH6 with Ava, MC's mom. Someone reached out to me and mentioned her rank, for someone of her caliber and time in the Marines, she should have a higher rank. People call her 'super-mom' so I didn't want to make her seem like some super-chad mom with this crazy rank, so I admit I nerfed her a bit. But talking to this person and them giving me info on what someone like her would be in that timeline, I do want to do the character justice. And I think those who served (and are also currently serving, o7 ) would appreciate that detail feeling more authentic. It's only like 1 or 2 renders from CH6 that would be updated, so after CH7 is released. I'll go back and update those two renders to show her corrected rank which would be Major. And as seen in last week's behind-the-scene's, we'll be learning a bit of her military career in this upcoming update. Those who served, I hope you enjoy the small segment dedicated to her this chapter. I did a lot of research to properly execute this scene.
