Sorry for the long wait. My 4090 ended up being repaired. Turns out it wasn't the cable, but the power delivery logic on the board itself was fried. It was pulling 300W at idle, and trying to pull as much as the PSU would allow under load. This led to tripping the PSU and also melting the cable. It's been rendering the next video since I got it back and so far so good. So touch wood that I don't have any more problems.
