⚡ Hotfix: v2.1.1 Performance Optimization (Live Now!)
Following the release of v2.1.0, some users reported a drop in performance. To fix this immediately, I have just deployed Version 2.1.1, completely focused on optimization and restoring your FPS back to normal levels without changing any of the visual DTM designs.
🛠️ Track Map & FPS Optimization
New Track Map FPS Limiter: Added a new setting to limit the Track Map refresh rate independently (15 FPS, 30 FPS, or Uncapped). The map will now update car positions, labels, race numbers, and marker data strictly at the selected limit to drastically reduce CPU/GPU usage.
FPS Saver Mode Upgrade: Enabling "FPS Saver Mode" will now automatically force the Track Map dynamic updates to a maximum of 15 FPS for maximum performance retrieval.
Text Measurement Caching: Optimized the backend code to cache text measurements, heavily reducing repeated calculations for car numbers and labels on the map.
Performance Safeguards: Added internal safeguards for heavy HUD elements, ensuring expensive animations and frequent background updates are reduced aggressively when performance drops are detected.
Leaderboard Optimization: Refined the update logic across all broadcast overlays and the main leaderboard to maintain smooth gameplay.
💡 Recommended Setting: If you are experiencing FPS drops, go to Settings > Map and set Track map max FPS to 15 FPS, or toggle the general FPS Saver mode. Please note: Enabling these performance modes means certain heavy UI animations and fast layout transitions will be disabled or refreshed at a lower speed compared to the standard uncapped version.
⚙️ Minor Update: v2.1.0 Changelog
Thank you for the incredible feedback on v2.0! To make this Pro version even more flawless, I have just deployed Version 2.0.1. This update fixes minor initial bugs, enhances Practice/Qualifying logic, and adds highly requested broadcast features.
Leaderboard & Timing System
Real-Time Sector Tracking: The leaderboard now displays sector-by-sector colors dynamically as drivers cross each detector. Empty sectors remain dark grey.
Session Best Logic: Only one purple highlight is allowed per sector, strictly reserved for the absolute overall best sector of the session.
Finish Line Behavior: Upon crossing the finish line, sector highlights remain visible for a few seconds before resetting to an uncolored state for the new lap.
New Track Status Indicators: Added OUT LAP indicator for drivers leaving the pits (visible until crossing Sector 1). Added a clean P icon next to the timing column when a driver with a set lap time is inside the pit lane, preserving perfect text alignment.
Dynamic Header Flag Colors: In Practice and Qualifying, the session timer background now dynamically changes color based on active track flags: Yellow, Blue, Red, or Green (Green remains visible for a few seconds when the track clears).
Post-Race Grid Ordering Fix: Fixed a critical bug where the real-time leaderboard positions would completely glitch out and shuffle randomly once the race session finished, ensuring the final grid order now remains perfectly accurate and locked.
Timing Card Upgrades
Improved Comparisons: Personal Best mode now compares against your saved personal best at the start of the lap, while Session Best targets the overall fastest lap.
Visual Polish: Fixed post-finish sector summaries and optimized text readability over white, green, and purple background highlights.
Functional Team Radio
RacingEngineer Integration: Fully functional voice activation with RacingEngineerDriverAudio. The card and animated waveform automatically trigger right after the engineer's beep/message.
Required Mod: Please note that this integration requires the external RacingEngineerDriverAudio mod, which I currently use as my main spotter. You can download it directly from Overtake.gg: https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/racing-engineer-driver-audio.84029/.
Crew Chief Support: I am also actively working on an upcoming update to ensure the Team Radio overlay functions perfectly with Crew Chief as well.
Toggleable Message Text: Added an option to show or hide the message text. If text is disabled, the header uniformly displays TEAM RADIO with an upgraded background layout.
Toggleable Message Text: Added an option to show or hide the message text. If text is disabled, the header uniformly displays TEAM RADIO with an upgraded background layout.
Fastest Lap Banner Redesign
TV-Accurate Layout: Fully redesigned to match the real-life DTM broadcast graphic. Displays FASTEST LAP and LAP X along with the position, driver name, country flag, and car model on a single, perfectly aligned line without overlapping.
Code Optimization: Fixed an initial bug where raw memory strings (e.g., function: 0x...) could randomly appear in the text field.
Track Map & Battle Card Updates
Clean Car Numbers: Driver numbers on the map now feature a direct black pointer line connecting the dot to the label for maximum clarity.
Practice/Qualy Logic: The Battle Gap mode is automatically disabled during timed practices and qualifying sessions, keeping the focus entirely on lap-time comparisons.
Track Conditions Polish: Fixed the annoying flickering issue that occurred on the Track Conditions overlay every time the air temperature, track temperature, or wind speed updated. To improve user experience and avoid distractions, I have reworked this feature: you can now configure the banner to stay visible at all times or automatically hide after the first lap of each session.
Overlay Hitbox Optimization
Reduced Interactive Area: Drastically reduced the invisible window bounds for Battle, Lower Third, Race Control, Winner, Telemetry, Conditions, and Track Map cards. Hidden or empty overlays now shrink their clickboxes, meaning they will no longer block mouse clicks or camera movements on screen.
The wait is officially over. After days of hard work, final polishing, and crushing those last-minute bugs, I am incredibly proud to present the biggest and most ambitious milestone for this project yet: DTM HUD Pro v2.0.
This version is a complete architectural and visual overhaul designed to bring the ultimate television-style broadcast experience straight into your Assetto Corsa simulator. I have pushed the Lua app integration and code optimization to its limits to deliver unprecedented layout customization, brand-new dynamic sub-apps, and massive performance improvements.
Here is the complete breakdown of everything included in this massive Version 2.0 release:
Main Features & Windows
The HUD is fully modular. It consists of multiple independent windows that can be enabled, moved, scaled, and pinned separately to fit your screen resolution and racing setup perfectly:
Advanced Leaderboard Layouts: Toggle between Simple, Compact, or Full broadcast-style leaderboard modes. It features SRO-style driver flags, car numbers, tyre compound badges, and official manufacturer logos.
