Ask and you shall receive! I requested suggestions for which song from my last album you'd like to see in video form, and the overwhelming response was this one. So we executed it, with gusto!
My esteemed colleague Hunter put this one together and I think you'll agree he's truly outdone himself this time. Look at that editing! Presumably it's all the practice he's had editing shows for the BBC recently.. Yes he's an Industry Big Boy now but that doesn't stop him putting his large head next to mine to help assemble fabulous content for this channel. He's an unequivocal real one.
I'm really pleased with this one. I think it's captured the original idea of the song the best of all the tracks we've done. And I love how it explodes visually and sonically into something totally unhinged.
The eagle-eared amongst you will notice there are some trims from the album version. The reasons for this were twofold: to help shorten the shoot and edit as we were on limited schedule, and also to help the flow of the intro. In hindsight, musically & conceptually, the first verse wasn't really necessary. I just really wanted to give a shout out to my old swimming coach Mario. I was fond of him, and while writing I found the totally inaccessible specificity of the reference amusing. So you can enjoy that in the album version.
