New Drunken Octopus Community and Discussion Forum
A few months ago, a Drunken Octopus user, Jeremy Custenborder, approached me about forming a community around DO. He has since done quite a lot of work, such as registering a custom domain for us (www.drunkenoctop.us), formatting the documentation for the front page in a nicer way, set up a GitHub organization for DO related sub-projects and creating a Discourse forum for us to use.
His work is very welcome, as I have been very frustrated with Patreon as a communication platform. While you guys can write comments on my posts, it is impossible to organize them into logical threads and very hard to find information once it has been posted.
Moreover, my current employment means I must think twice before actively encouraging people upgrade a LulzBot printer; having an independent DO community allows me to focus on building the firmware rather than providing upgrade guidance.
So please head on over to the forums and create your account! Share you ideas and your projects! Let's make 2021 the Year of the Octopus!
New Drunken Octopus Builds
I've made a new Drunken Octopus release here:
https://github.com/drunken-octopus/drunken-octopus-marlin/releases/tag/2.0.0.1.rc25
The following things have changed:
Merged in new code from upstream.
In the previous release, the binaries with BLTouch were to large to be uploaded to the Rambo board. This release removes the easter egg games and G26 mesh validation from these builds to allow the firmware to fit on the Rambo board.
On user request, this release adds an untested and experimental TAZ 6 + Archim + BLTouch firmware for the M175 toolhead.
The password for the member-only archive is "YuletideOctopus"
Hope you enjoy it and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
