DESCRIPTION

Introduction

I wanted to do a little more testing on Inalion, but she seems to work pretty nicely in my game. If you folks find any issues, let me know in the comments.

Keep in mind this isn't a full-blown huge custom-voiced follower like my other big releases that feature voice. This is my first fully-voiced by AI follower. I designed her voice myself. No one else provided a sample. I created the voice from a prompt to sound exactly how she sounds. For those of you that don't like AI voiced followers, I apologize, but right now it is what I can afford. I have some real voiced followers coming too - those are the bigger projects with a lot more features. There is something extremely cool about this follower though. She has a very nice combat system for a monk. At first it may not seem like much, but read about her Nine Fist system below.

Character Information

Inalion is a custom-voiced Bosmer monk follower for Skyrim Special Edition. No swords, no staves - just fists and willpower. Inalion trades weapons entirely for a martial art that channels nine elemental forms, striking with whichever element her enemies fear most. This is an all-new version of Inalion and not compatible with the old version. Some of the same assets were used and she carried over some of her great perks too. If you try to run both mods, this mod will win priority and you will likely break something. She has a much more elaborate backstory now too.

Backstory

Inalion was born in the village of Silvenar's shadow, deep in the Green's canopy, where Valenwood breathes like a living thing and the trees remember every name whispered beneath them. Her earliest memories are not of loss but of abundance. A father who could name every bird by its wing-beat. A mother whose laugh carried through the branches. She was seven years old when they traveled to Cyrodiil for reasons she was never told. She suspects trade. She suspects politics. She suspects none of it mattered, because they never came home. What found her at the roadside outside Bravil was not grief yet. Grief came later. What found her first was a group of wandering monks in undyed robes, moving through the Empire's roads like water through stone. The Balancers did not ask whether she wanted to come with them. They simply made space.

The Order raised her without ceremony and without softness. She was not given sympathy for her loss. She was given work, and silence, and eventually understanding. The Balancers taught that grief is not the opposite of peace. It is the raw material of it. For decades she learned to fight without weapons, to read the weight of a room before entering, to feel the pull between order and chaos the way a sailor reads wind. Her graduation came after ninety years of training. The life-and-death trial is the Order's only secret she will not discuss. What she will say is that she chose nothing. The elements chose her. She woke with bruised ribs, a cut above her brow, and an elder standing over her saying simply: "Nine Fists. Good. Get up." She has been a Monk of the Nine Fists since that morning, and she has not stopped moving since.

Her wandering years carried her across all of Tamriel's accessible roads. She spent a decade in Hammerfell watching the Redguards treat combat as philosophy. She meditated in the Jerall Mountains until frost formed on her eyelashes. She sat with Argonian root-speakers in the marsh and found they understood balance better than most monks she had trained beside. She does not collect possessions. She collects conversations. Each one she files away like a bead on a long string, patient, building toward something she cannot fully name. When word reached her order that dragons had returned to Skyrim, her elder said nothing. Just looked at her. She was on the road within the hour.

She arrived in Skyrim with three things: her robes, a letter from her order she has already memorized and destroyed, and a name she was told to find. The Dragonborn. She does not know if this person is hero or monster. She does not know if the title means what the old texts suggest. She knows only that the dragons represent an imbalance so severe it threatens not just Skyrim but the careful equilibrium the Order has spent centuries tending. She will stop the dragons. She will assess the Dragonborn. And then, for the first time in over a century, she will stay somewhere long enough to learn what staying feels like.

The Nine Fists Combat System

Inalion's signature feature. She carries no visible weapon - instead, her hands manifest one of nine elemental forms, and she automatically switches between them as the fight unfolds:

Element - Strength

Fire - Raw burn damage and explosive burstsFrost - Slows and staggerLightning - Health + Magicka damageWind - Speed, dispels, air pressureDarkness - Armor penetration and resist-drainingDivine - Radiant damage and self-healingEarth - Bone-breaking impactPoison - Damage-over-time with no sound signatureWater - Elemental resistance drain and crushing pressure

At the start of every combat, Inalion reads her opponent's resistances and picks the fist that hits hardest. When the target changes, she re-evaluates and adapts. Hit a frost-resistant draugr one moment, then spin to face a mage with no shock resistance - she'll switch mid-battle, style and all.

Divine Mode

Drop below 25% health and Inalion enters *Divine Mode* - she swaps to the Divine Fist and begins channeling radiant energy to heal herself while continuing to strike. Bleed out entirely and an emergency surge pulls her back from the brink. She is not a follower who dies easily.

A True Martial Artist

Extended reach - on every strike - Inalion was built from the ground up to land her hits against enemies who try to kite or sidestep a brawler.

Aggressive closing behavior - she hunts down her target instead of circling it. Combat styles are tuned to close straight in, minimize retreat, and capitalize on every opening.

In-combat speed burst - the moment a fight begins, she moves with increased speed to pin her prey. Out of combat, she walks beside you at normal pace.

Custom perks including Tempest, Whirlwind Assault, Way of the Wind Fist, Hurricane Hands, and Void Strikes - each one designed around the unarmed archetype.

Companion Features

Fully custom-voiced - with over 150 unique lines covering recruitment, dismissal, idle banter, combat, bleedout, and reaction scenes

Can be summoned to your location if you lose her

Monk class - weighted toward, Stamina, Light Armor, and Sneak - DON'T GIVE HER WEAPONS.

ESL-Flagged and compatible with Horde or any other follower framework. She can be imported safely into NFF.

Where to Find Her

Inalion can be found at the Bannered Mare in Whiterun. Approach her and start a conversation to begin her recruitment dialogue. She has no special quest.
