So since the last post, experimenting with the comic style, I've drafted up and cleaned up a first page of The Wiz and Biggle Baggleston.
First, I took another shot at the designs but I'm still playing around with them a bit, nothing is fully locked in just yet
I was going to tidy this rough up for you all but then I realised that it wouldn't be a very genuine example of a rough if I did.
The reality with my roughs as always is they look almost unintelligible without context (one of the results of doing a lot of this stuff solo).
Here it is cleaned up! I got a tonne of ideas for these characters and a lot of lore and story I was scribbling away at like a lunatic since the year began.
I'm still testing this comic idea for now and I kind of feel like I want to go back to animation but if I do it will be in a more punchy and minimal style for this project.
I feel like there's a solid idea here and my priority is sharing it and telling the story I have planned in a way that is more natural and less involving me vanishing with it for a month or so and then showing snippets occasionally, its just not what I started doing art/animation for and I want to recapture the actual sharing of the work and lend a continuous voice to the process.
