Howdy,
Since the last post I have switched gears to animation again but with a more minimalist approach, the more I tried working with comics the more I realised it was missing something I really enjoy from animation which was a lot of the timing, movement and shot composition that can't quite be conveyed in the same way through comic panels.
I want to keep this achievable though and I also want to be able to share what I make as I go, in part to pander to algorithms that want to always see "stuff" but also because I genuinely don't enjoy making a 2 or 3 minute cartoon and not having something to fully upload for about a month.
I jumped in the recording booth (my wardrobe lol) and riffed together something kind of loose to get the ball rolling on this project, I have 2 and a half minutes of audio that I am gradually animating as well and my plan is to upload a short of every 20 to 30 seconds of animation as I go to yt shorts/insta reels/tiktok etc then when I reach the end of the first episode audio track I'll have a 2 and a half minute cartoon to upload to the channel as well!
Something I'm trying out for this as well is to actually work in a square canvas with a faint grid showing portrait mode and horizontal classic video mode too. This way when I export for phones the version doesn't need to look all crappy and zoomed in and cropped about, there will be a version that works for both set ups!
Here is the first scene with these guys, it'll go up on insta, yt and tiktok end of this week!
I'm going to share these with you guys early as I make them, when I have three stockpiled and ready to go I'll start releasing them on here early and then get a momentum going. I can't make promises until I figure out how easy it'll be to keep the pace up but ideally a new mini ep like this every two days is what I'd love to be able to do.
Back soon with more, thanks for the continued support! 😎
