Overall, October was a pretty good month, but the past few days have been absolutely miserable.

Aside from being on pins and needles with election stuff, the water main in our house started leaking, so we're going on about 48 hours without our house having water.

To top all that off, I had a great start to this year's NaSoAlMo album in a month challenge, but then the project files got corrupted and I lost like 20 minutes of music. I was able to recover some of it, but it really took the wind out of my sails.

Feel extremely burnt out right now. The good news is the election will be done one way or another tomorrow. I also have a plumber scheduled to fix the issue in the morning. After that it's just trying to pick up the pieces and get back to it.

I'm honestly extremely excited to work on this month's album; it's an idea I've had in my back pocket for nearly a decade now called Drones for Drones. It is drone music specifically designed to be played on headphones in an office environment to drown outside noise and enhance focus.

After a bit of studying and learning techniques that increase focus and assist with blocking out the frequency range of speech, I am looking forward to putting that knowledge into practice and making some chill drones in the process. The album is planned to be 6 songs long with each song being 10 minutes.

Most of my studio time this month will be spent working on the album, but I might do more sketchbook loops or work on existing songs just to take a break from drone music, which can get a bit exhausting on the ears sometimes.

Heck, if this goes over well I can make a series out of it. Would be nice to have a decent library of songs to flip through during a hectic workday.

There are also tentative plans being made for 2025. Not fully sure of them yet, but hopefully something I can talk about more in the December update.

I'm going to donate to some kitties and then get to sleep early. Here's hoping that tomorrow is a better day. 💖
