What I love more than anything is parody, and you can clearly see that in the Youtooz's Billy Buns Plushies Campaign illustrations I made over the past 4 weeks!
As usual, we started at the 300 milestone. And what better movie to parody than, well, 300!
The Coppertone one was totally random XD
I had no idea what to do for 400 buns sold, then someone suggested the Coppertone poster and… bam, it was done! It ended up becoming one of the most liked posters of the whole campaign lol
I knew right away I wanted to do 50 First Dates for the 500 buns milestone, and it became one of my personal favorites ❤️
The Hot Shots! parody was a last minute idea after we got the extended launch date.
The moment I thought about it, that iconic scene with the main heroine singing on a piano, in an anti gravity mode popped into my head! You can watch the scene here. It’s BONKERS! XD
Then we have the Step Up parody. Since we were stepping up our numbers, it felt natural to lean into rom-com parodies from there XD
I was feeling freaky that Billy Buns had sold way more than I expected… so of course, Freaky Friday it was! Let’s swap their bodies completely!
And of course, right before the campaign ended, we had to do Alice in Wonderland XD
Finally, the last one. I had this idea for a while! I wanted to parody the It’s Complicated movie poster. After teasing Hank and Billy for so long, they ended up in bed together lmao.
